Equine dental care is essential to a horse’s overall health, comfort, and performance. Horses’ teeth continuously erupt throughout their lives, and without regular dental examinations, uneven wear, sharp points, hooks, or infections can develop. These issues can cause pain, difficulty chewing, weight loss, behavioral problems, and poor performance under saddle or in work. Proper dental care helps ensure efficient digestion by allowing the horse to chew feed correctly, which supports better nutrient absorption and gut health. Routine dental maintenance also prevents more serious conditions such as tooth fractures, periodontal disease, and sinus infections, ultimately improving the horse’s quality of life and longevity. If you would like to make an appointment to get your horses teeth done please call the clinic at 405-665-9149
