Congratulations to Bo for graduating today!!

Bo needed help with boundary training and basic manners like no jumping.

On our first session it was clear how intelligent Bo is, he picked up on the training so quickly!

Bo learned his yard boundaries with ease and showed fast improvement. His Mom was able to have a conversation with a neighbor the other day and Bo stayed in his designated boundary area! He is also much less jumpy now and doesn’t obsessively bark at his Mom like he was.

With a little bit of management and some training cues established, Bo has exceeded our expectations. He is a sweet, chill, goofy puppy!

Thank you to his owner for being dedicated to his training and helping him be successful! 🖤🐾 🐕‍🦺

Congratulations to Bailey on graduating from Doggie Do-Over!

Bailey’s owner reached out needing help with building Bailey’s confidence and leash walking next to the baby stroller.

Week 1 we started with exercises that she could do at home with Bailey - off leash with me, recall

Week 2 we met down at Merrill Parkway and worked on her walking nicely on leash, listening to cues and sit/stay at the presence of people/dogs. We also decided to switch her to a Halti harness.

Week 3 we walked down at Merrill Parkway with an empty stroller and reinforced her leash walking and not pulling off to strangers or distractions

Week 4 we walked at the Parkway with baby B in stroller and reinforced everything she learned. Bailey now has more confidence when walking, doesn’t get scared by loud or strange noises, sits and stays when her owner asks her to and walks loosely on leash when cued. She also gets to sniff freely when her owner releases her with “free”

Bailey came a long way in a short amount of time and has the biggest smiles on her walks. She loves people and is very friendly. Thank you to her owner for being dedicated to her and her training journey and working with her outside of our sessions! Your hard work helped Bailey graduate doggie school! 🦮💛🐾

Congratulations to Spike on graduating from Doggie Do-Over!

Spike’s owner reached out with a unique case. Spike is the man pictured son’s dog but his son was deployed a few months ago and Spike came to live with his Dad.(We will call him Mr. S)

Mr. S needed help bonding better with Spike and learning his cues.
Spike is an ex-military dog specializing in bomb detection. He could no longer serve after medical issues. Spike has an extensive medical history: two leg surgeries, ongoing liver issues, skin cancer and so on.
Spike is very sensitive in his hind end and has caused him to be irritable when that area is touched. He also resource guards food.

We worked on his basic manners, seeing what he knows and he knew all his basics very well. We then used that to teach Mr. S what to do in situations where Spike may be more irritable.

After a few weeks, their bond has strengthened considerably and Mr. S feels much more confident handling Spike and Spike is initiating more cuddle time, wanting to be pet etc..

Thank to Mr. S for taking care of Spike and being dedicated to learning and his training while his son is away! 🖤🐾🤎

Congratulations to Storm on graduating from Doggie Do-Over!
Her owner reached out recently moving from the Big Apple needing help with recall, building confidence, and adjusting in her new home to limit her potty accidents.

When I first met Storm she was extremely timid and would p*e as soon as she saw me but I could tell that she had a sweet soul and just needed some help knowing she’s safe.

In 3 short weeks Storm has completely turned around. She is listening to her owner way better on leash (off leash.. well she’s a husky!)
She knows: sit, down, come, stay, paw, touch and to stay out of the kitchen.

Her owner has done an amazing job with training her. She’s given her the patience and dedication she needs to flourish and it really showed today.

They’ve come up with a new morning routine to get her to potty outside and it’s been working. When I walked into their house today Storm didn’t squat and p*e, she came up to me, sniffed me and let me pet her.

I am so proud of this family for reaching their goals and its stories like this one that remind me of how much I love what I do! 🐾🦴🤍

Meet Rocky!
Rocky is between 1-2 years of age and is a rescue! We think he has some Plott Hound in him.

Rocky’s owner reached out needing help with recall, basic obedience and getting along with their cats.

Rocky has done amazing at learning his basics and even more amazing at having a better recall! We are at the point where he can be off leash in his backyard and work on his recall! His owner and him have a very special bond and he listens to her very well, she dedicates a lot of time to training him and playing with him!

He is still learning how to control himself with cats. He doesn’t bark as much now but he will lay down and watch them intently.

Rocky developed a habit of lunging at cars so we started counterconditioning training with him. This is a positive reinforcement style based training where our goal is to change his emotional response of cars going by. So instead of “lunge and bark” it’s “if I ignore the cars, I get a yummy treat” - he has improved so much on this but there is more work to do.
He still lunges if he is within 5 feet of a car or if he is being walked in a very busy area where he is overstimulated.

Our next goal is to have him calm down when he sees a dog as he gets very excited and can be unmanageable. Rocky has never been taught how to control himself in the presence of other dogs so this is something we will work on in our next session.

Between the cars and the dogs, it will take time to get Rocky to be unbothered by them or at least more manageable around them. Luckily his owner is 100% dedicated to helping him get there.

I very much appreciate all the time and effort you put in outside our classes! Keep up the great work Rocky and R!

This is Ziva! She is a 1 year old Great Dane and such a sweetheart!

Ziva’s owner reached out to work on recall, potty training and to help with some of her sensitivity issues she was having.

After our first session it was clear Ziva was a fast learner and just wanted to please her owner. Ziva’s recall has improved, she hasn’t had an accident in the house since we’ve started training and we are working on getting her comfortable in public.

Ziva is a service dog in training. We have been working on her holding a stay when in an aisle and picking up items for her Mom, (who could faint if she bends to pick stuff up). Ziva is learning fast and it’s beautiful to watch her grow more confident in herself.

Good job to her owner for being dedicated to her and this training journey! Go Ziva! 😊🐾
