That smile is 100% original, and so is the boy behind it! 😁

Mater is an 11-month-old, 35-pound Pitty mix with a goofy grin, a playful personality, and a serious love for people. Head scratches? Yes, please! Extra attention? Even better!

This energetic young guy is ready for a family who will keep him busy with walks, playtime, and adventures. He’s good with kids and cats, crate-trained, and mostly house-trained!

A few things to know: Mater needs slow introductions to other dogs and would do best with tolerant doggy friends. He also has a history of a jaw injury that leaves him with his signature crooked smile, so his future family will need to keep an eye on his dental health.

At 7 pounds, Fuzzy is already bringing the drama, the zoomies, and the sneak attacks! This 4-month-old Chihuahua loves her toys, playing with her siblings, and pouncing on unsuspecting victims like a tiny little cat. 🐱💥

Fuzzy is a confident, playful girl who’s always ready for fun! She’s crate-trained, but still working on her potty skills and puppy manners. She’ll need a family ready to keep up with her antics while helping her learn boundaries and grow into her best self. 💕

Tiny girl, BIG love!

Dolly is a 7-pound Maltese mix with a playful spirit, a curious nose, and so much love to give! She loves toys, outdoor adventures, and playing with other pups.

Dolly can be shy and nervous when meeting new people, so she’ll need a patient family willing to let her warm up at her own pace. But once she trusts you? Get ready for ALL the love! 🩷

She’s doing great with her kennel and is mostly house-trained. A playful doggy friend, a consistent routine, and some confidence-building will help this little girl blossom!

🐾 💕 Hello Lulu! Goodbye heart! Sweet Lulu, I’m so in love with you! 🎶 🎵 💗

Lulu may be 14 years young, but this little lady still has plenty of personality! 🥰 She is a unique, independent, and sometimes stubborn girl who knows what she likes—and she isn’t afraid to let you know it!

Lulu is happiest curled up on the couch with her people, enjoying gentle pets, cuddles, and plenty of attention. She loves her people and will happily whine to remind you when she thinks it’s time for treats, affection, or both! She also enjoys short walks and soaking up the attention of her favorite humans. ❤️

Lulu can be a little feisty and is still learning to trust. She does best with people who will allow her to build a relationship at her own pace. Fast movements toward her can make her uncomfortable, and she needs to feel secure before being picked up. Once she trusts you, she enjoys gentle affection and cozy cuddle time.

Lulu is also a girl who likes her belongings! She can be territorial about treats and toys, so her future family will need to respect her boundaries and manage these items appropriately.

She has spent most of her life as the only pet, but she is adjusting to being around other dogs and has shown that she can learn to share her space. Slow, respectful introductions will be important.

Lulu does have some senior quirks. She may have occasional accidents in the house, so her family will need to be patient and understanding. She also has a loud bark and must be kept on a leash or in a securely fenced yard because she will take the opportunity to wander if given the chance! 🐾

At her recent veterinary visit, Lulu was noted to have a heart murmur, which the vet feels is related to her age. Her future family should be prepared to continue appropriate veterinary care as she enjoys her golden years.

Lulu isn't your typical little lap dog—and that's exactly what makes her so cool. 💕 She is independent, opinionated, feisty, loving, and full of personality. She needs someone who will appreciate her quirks, respect her boundaries, and give her the patience and love she deserves.

If you're looking for a senior girl with a big personality, a big bark, and an even bigger need for love, Lulu might be your girl! 🥰🐾

❤❤Our Community is Amazing!💚 OUR COMMUNITY IS AMAZING! 🐾

Last week, we put out a call for dry cat food to help stock our community food pantry, and you all showed up in the best way! 🐱💚

From people purchasing food directly off our wishlist to those dropping off bags of cat food right at our headquarters, we have been blown away by the love and generosity shown by our community.

The support we feel from all of you is truly incredible, and it reminds us just how special this community is. At Wild & Free, we believe that caring for animals also means supporting the people who love them. Being able to help families keep their beloved pets fed and cared for is something we are so proud to be part of. 🐾

🍺 Meet Rootbeer, aka “Miss Crabby Pants”! 🐾

Rootbeer is a 42-pound English Bulldog with a personality all her own! She arrived in Wisconsin with the nickname “Miss Crabby Pants,” and honestly… the name has stuck! 😂 But underneath that stubborn Bulldog exterior is a girl who can be incredibly affectionate, snuggly, playful, and loving once she decides you’re worthy of her trust. Rootbeer is not the kind of dog who will immediately run up to every stranger and hand out kisses. In fact, when she first arrived, she trusted no one.

Rootbeer needs time, patience, decompression, structure, and plenty of treats to learn that you are someone she can trust. Her trust is something you have to earn—and once you do, you'll discover that she gives some of the BEST kisses! ❤️

Rootbeer is a stubborn little Bulldog who thrives when she has clear boundaries, a predictable routine, and structure. An experienced adopter is strongly recommended, preferably someone who understands the Bulldog personality and is comfortable giving her the time she needs to decompress and settle in.

Once comfortable, Rootbeer is actually quite the sweetheart. She loves to snuggle with her people, enjoys going for walks, and absolutely LOVES being outside and playing with her big herding balls. When she gets excited and playful, you'll see her adorable little butt wiggles! 😂 She also has a serious love affair with treats, which can definitely help when you're working on building that Rootbeer trust.

Rootbeer is best as the only pet, although she can do okay with very submissive dogs with an extremely slow and lengthy introduction. She will need a home where introductions are handled carefully and where she isn't pressured into interactions before she's ready.

Rootbeer is crate trained and mostly house trained. One of Rootbeer's biggest care requirements is her grooming routine. She is not a fan of having her ears, skin folds, or tail pocket cleaned, and her tail pocket is quite deep and requires regular maintenance. Her adopter will need to be comfortable with this routine and understand that cleaning may require extra precautions, patience, and careful handling. This is an important part of keeping her healthy and comfortable.

Rootbeer also needs very clear boundaries around children and visitors. She should never be left alone with children or with guests visiting the home. Her adopter will need to be proactive about management and make sure Rootbeer has a safe, comfortable space where she can decompress when people come over. Rootbeer isn't going to be everyone's dog—and that's okay. She's looking for her person. The person who understands that trust takes time. The person who won't rush her. The person who can provide structure and boundaries while also appreciating the goofy, affectionate Bulldog underneath it all.

Give Rootbeer time, patience, treats, and consistency, and she just might reward you with a wiggly butt, a big Bulldog smile, a cozy snuggle, and those BEST KISSES she's been saving for someone special. 🍺❤️🐾 ❤️

🍭🍭 Meet Lolopop! ..I mean, Lollipup! ..I mean, LOLO! 🍭 🐾 🍭 🐾
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Lolo is a sweet little Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love just waiting for the right person to help it shine. She may be shy at first, but once she feels safe, she's an incredibly affectionate companion who loves cuddles and being close to her people.
One of Lolo's favorite places is tucked under a cozy blanket! At bedtime, she'll happily snuggle into bed under the covers, often giving your feet a few sweet kisses before settling in for the night. She also enjoys burrowing under blankets throughout the day whenever she can.
Lolo is both house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a patient and understanding home. She knows her name and will happily come when you tap your leg and say, "Come on!"
Because she's naturally timid, Lolo startles easily with new sights, sounds, and experiences. She'll need a family that understands shy dogs and is willing to let her build confidence at her own pace. Having another confident, friendly dog in the home is a must—it helps Lolo feel more secure and gives her someone to follow and learn from.
Lolo also has a strong instinct to follow the pack. If another dog chases a cat, she'll join in, so any home with cats should have dogs that ignore them. Due to her fearful nature, Lolo is a significant flight risk, and she must have a securely fenced yard. She should never be trusted off leash, as she can spook easily and run.
If you're looking for a gentle little shadow who loves cozy blankets, quiet companionship, and snuggling close, Lolo could be the perfect match. With patience, love, a canine companion, and a secure fenced yard, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and endless cuddles.

🍑 🎵 “Movin to the Country, gonna need a dog named Peaches!” 🎶 🍑

Meet Peaches! 🍑🐾

Peaches is a 1-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a BIG personality packed into a tiny body! If there is something happening in the house, you can bet Peaches wants to be right in the middle of it. She is a true little velcro dog who wants to be part of everything her people are doing.

Peaches is happiest when she's snuggled up with her person. She absolutely loves burrowing under the blankets or nuzzling right up by your neck for some serious cuddle time. ❤️ She wants to be close, cozy, and involved!

Don't let her small size fool you—Peaches can JUMP! A baby gate is merely a suggestion to this little athlete, especially if her person is on the other side. She'll do whatever she can to make sure she isn't missing out on the action!

Peaches is still learning some puppy manners. She is working on house training and crate training, as well as learning that hands aren't chew toys. She also loves giving kisses and is working on toning down the constant face and hand licking. She's a work in progress, but she's eager to learn with the right family.

Peaches has been around cats and has shown that she can coexist with them. She does like to chase the resident "crazy" cat, while completely ignoring the more laid-back cat. Because of her interest in chasing, continued supervision and appropriate introductions with cats will be important.

When it comes to toys, Peaches is still figuring things out. She's actually a little unsure of toys—even small ones—but she has zero hesitation when treats are involved! She gets very excited for treats and may or may not turn into a professional beggar. 🍪😂

Peaches is looking for a family who will continue helping her learn, give her plenty of love and patience, and understand that this little girl wants to be your constant companion.
