Not every rider dreams of big shows, championship ribbons, or moving up the levels… and that’s okay.

At Bridge the Gap Equine, I believe horsemanship matters just as much as riding. Learning to understand your horse, communicate clearly, and build a true partnership creates a foundation that lasts far beyond the saddle.

You do not have to be chasing big show goals to become a better horse person.

Whether your goal is competing, pleasure riding, or simply enjoying time with your horse, quality horsemanship will always make you a better rider.

Allow me to reintroduce myself. Hi, I'm Madeline!

Before horses became my full-time focus, I spent years serving in the Air Force as an instructor. I taught everyone from seasoned pilots to hometown heroes taking their first flight in an Air Force aircraft.

That experience taught me an important lesson: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning.

That experience shaped my teaching philosophy for Bridge the Gap Equine which centers around communication, adaptability, and education.

Whether you're a brand-new rider or pursuing competitive goals, I believe understanding why something works is just as important as learning how to do it.

I'm passionate about biomechanics, building rider confidence, and helping horse and rider move together in harmony.

Because good riding isn't about forcing results, it's about creating understanding. 💚

Good riding starts with understanding.

One of the most valuable skills a rider can develop is body awareness.

Many riding challenges aren’t caused by a lack of effort, they stem from not fully understanding how the rider’s body influences balance, movement, and communication with the horse.

That’s why rider education is such an important part of my program. By helping riders develop greater proprioception, balance, and awareness, I empower them to make intentional adjustments, communicate more clearly, and become more effective partners for their horses.

My goal isn’t simply to tell riders what to do. It’s to help them understand why.
Because confident riders are educated riders, and better understanding leads to better horsemanship.
