Wright-Patterson AFB is open for mission essential personnel and medical appointments only on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, due to hazardous snow and icy road conditions.

PLEASE READ ENTIRE MESSAGE:

- The base will be fully operational and OPEN Wednesday, 28 January 2026.

- Mission-essential personnel will continue to work as scheduled and must use Gate 12A (AFMC HQ) or 22B (I-675). Any mission-essential employee with travel concerns should coordinate with their direct supervisor for alternate plans.

- The Wright-Patterson Medical Center is OPEN for scheduled appointments only at 9:00 AM, labs, and the WPMC pharmacy (not Kitty Hawk). Be advised, only parking lots 1 and 3 are currently open and there is limited parking available due to ongoing snowplow operations.

- The Child Development Center (CDC) will open for mission-essential employees only. CDC operations will be consolidated to the Wright Field North CDC. Operating hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be no school-age care provided.

- The Base Exchange and Commissary are CLOSED to customers (open to employees only to prepare for full opening Wednesday). Be advised there is limited parking available due to snow removal operations.

- All FSS facilities are CLOSED to customers.

- The Dining Facility remains OPEN for dorm residents and mission-essential personnel.

- Telework-eligible employees should maximize telework if authorized or take appropriate leave.

- Contractor employees should contact their company management for guidance.

All personnel are advised to use extreme caution while driving due to slick and hazardous road conditions. Due to severe wind chill and low temperatures, longer wait times at the gates are expected starting Wednesday when the base fully reopens.

❄️⚠️ WPAFB CLOSED – MONDAY, 26 JAN 2026 ⚠️❄️

Wright-Patterson AFB will remain CLOSED on Monday, 26 January 2026, due to snowy and icy road conditions. A review will be conducted Monday at 6:00 PM to assess the conditions and determine the operational status for Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Updates will be shared after the review.

The majority of surrounding counties around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base are currently under a Level 2 or Level 3 snow emergency. If travel is absolutely necessary, please exercise extreme caution and be prepared for hazardous conditions.

The Child Development Center (CDC) will open for mission-essential employees, CDC operations will be consolidated to the Wright Field North CDC. Operating hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A safety review of the roads will be done at 6:00 AM to determine if the CDC could close for road safety reasons. An internal notification will be sent out when a decision is made on the CDC status. Please note, there will be no school-age care provided.

- Mission-essential personnel will continue to work as scheduled and must use Gate 12A (AFMC HQ) or 22B (I-675).

- The Base Exchange and Commissary and FSS facilities will be CLOSED.

- The Dining Facility remains open for the dorm residents and mission-essential personnel.

- All airfield and 445th Airlift Wing operations remain closed.

- The Wright-Patterson Medical Center will provide emergency services only.

- Telework employees should continue to telework or take appropriate leave.

All personnel are advised to use extreme caution while driving due to slick and hazardous road conditions.

In the instance that base closes on Monday due to severe weather warnings, the WPAFB Vet clinic will also be closed.

- Our clinic is open during the government shutdown
- Our clinic will be closed on Friday, 10 OCT through Monday, 13 OCT in observance of Columbus Day and will resume normal operations on Tuesday 14 OCT.

We will not be available for any appointments, surgeries or health certificates from October 20th - November 3rd 2025. Prescription refills must be called in two days prior to pick up & are dependent upon availability & Dr’s prior approval. No new prescriptions will be filled.
