Pet Rock Festival

Pet Rock Festival Pet Rock Fest, celebrating more than 25 years in action, is New England's largest animal welfare nonprofit, which hosts its flagship festival each fall
(1)

Celebrating more than 25 years, the Pet Rock Festival is an annual event held in the fall each year. It is an afternoon expo/festival that includes live music, vendors, food, contests, and most importantly, more than 150 animal organizations broadcasting their causes.

Proceeds from the festival are distributed to Massachusetts-based animal welfare organizations, including shelters, cruelty watch

dogs and rescue leagues. Regular recipients of our festival include Red Rover/KIND News, Foster Parrots, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Maple Farm Sanctuary and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), to name but a few. $1,000, $500 and $250 awards are also handed to rescue groups and shelters that win our coveted “lottery” and “shelter/rescue dog parade” during the festival. Pet Rock Fest has distributed thousands to worthy animal causes in New England. We’ve also given to groups such as Mass. Vest-A Dog, Dog Orphans, the Community Cat Center, the Worcester Animal Rescue League and the Second Chance Animal Shelter. The festival is produced and founded by Pet Rock Fest, Inc., which
is a 501c(3) organization whose mission is to educate, promote and communicate the importance of treating animals with kindness. Our Web site, www.petrockfest.org, and social pages have become a general meeting place for concerned animal lovers to unite and share information and thoughts. On our site and social pages we post animal news, link to important animal related sites, update you on our upcoming festival and most importantly, provide a forum for folks to chat. Please visit our site and communicate with us, and others, often. Get involved. Learn more. And remember, they can’t talk, so we will.

🐾 Nonprofit Spotlight: Paws 4 Blue K-9 🐾

We're proud to welcome Paws 4 Blue K-9 to Pet Rock Fest 2026.

This incredible nonprofit helps provide funding for police K-9 programs without dedicated budgets, as well as retired police dogs in need of assistance. From essential equipment and training to unexpected medical expenses, Paws 4 Blue K-9 helps ensure these hardworking dogs receive the care and support they deserve.

Their mission also includes educating the public about the important role police K-9s play in keeping communities safe and the unique challenges they face during and after their service.

We're grateful they'll be joining us at Pet Rock Fest this year as we celebrate all the ways animals make a difference in our lives.

We are looking for people on several regular volunteering shifts: Sunday afternoon and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Volunteering generally is cleaning, but while you’re cleaning, you get to visit with the kitties and give them attention and socialization!

If interested, please find our volunteer application on our website, link below. It can be filled out and brought back to us in person or sent as scans or photos to [email protected].

🐾 Nonprofit Spotlight: Paws 4 A Cure 🐾

We’re honored to welcome Paws 4 A Cure to Pet Rock Fest 2026.

This incredible all-volunteer nonprofit provides financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to dogs and cats across the United States — helping families who are facing heartbreaking decisions simply because treatment costs are out of reach.

Their mission is simple but powerful: no dog or cat should be denied urgent medical care due to financial hardship.

Paws 4 A Cure supports hardworking families, seniors on fixed incomes, veterans, people with disabilities, and others going through difficult times — giving beloved pets a fighting chance and helping keep families together.

Organizations like this remind us that animal welfare isn’t just about rescue. Sometimes it’s about helping people hold onto the animals they already love. We’re grateful they’ll be part of Pet Rock Fest this year. 💛
