About a year ago, my husband and I started looking for a property to expand my business, so I could have a training space of my very own! Shortly after starting our search, I met Darlynn of The Right Paw in Princeton, MA.

I knew of her, knew that she was a well respected trainer in the area and that she had been in business for a long time, almost 3 decades. What I didn't know until I met her was that she was looking to retire and pass her business on to a younger trainer.

This past Wednesday, my husband and I moved in to the house on The Right Paw property, and as of Thursday I am now the PROUD new owner of The Right Paw Obedience School!

Over the next year you'll see a blending of "Banks K9 Solutions" and "The Right Paw", think of them as one in the same! Banks K9 will continue to offer the same in home training and board and train. While The Right Paw will continue to offer group classes taught by Stephanie Duca and private training taught by me!

We are busy teaching virtual group classes! Last night we focused on down stays while a YouTube clip of dogs barking played.

Earlier this week we had a puppy class and a basic obedience class start. Not only do these group classes give you stuff to do with your dog, but we also have a private support group on Facebook where students can share video of what they're working on and ask questions.

I'm pretty excited to start virtual group classes tonight!

Puppy Kindergarten class starts tonight at 7:30 for dogs under 5 months.

There are two obedience class options (called "grammar school"), one that starts tomorrow at 5pm and the other starts Wednesday April 1st at 6:15! Grammar School is great for dogs over 5 months of age.

New on YouTube: Muzzle Training Series

I'm finally getting around to editing and posting some muzzle training I started last year! This is the first of several videos that will show the muzzle training process.

Why would anyone train their dog to wear a muzzle?

Muzzles are a funny tool, you don't need them until you need them right NOW. If you wait until you need to use a muzzle, you won't have time to properly teach your dog that it's ok to wear one. Teach your dog to be cool wearing a muzzle before they have to at a vet visit or around people or dogs.
