It was a different kind of week here at Shear Love. Bryanna has been taking some much-needed time to grieve, and the shop just hasn’t felt the same without seeing and hearing our Mabel girl.

We just want to say thank you to all of our amazing clients who donated, reached out, and asked about Bryanna. The love and support you’ve shown her means more than you know.

Times like this remind me that we really are a family, and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to build with this business.

We truly LOVE what we do and on the hard days, getting to hug, kiss and squeeze all of your pets helps our hearts a little more than you probably realize. 🐾🤍

In Loving Memory of Mabel It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share that sweet Mabel has lost her fight. Bryanna and her family did absolutely everything they could to save her. Mabel received emergency care, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, medications, and every possible chance to fight but sadly, despite all of their efforts, it was just too much. Mabel was only 3 years old and so deeply loved. Our hearts are completely broken for Bryanna and her family as they navigate this devastating loss. The fundraiser will remain open to help ease the tremendous veterinary debt they took on while doing everything possible to save Mabel. They have already faced thousands of dollars in emergency veterinary expenses, and any donation, no matter the amount, will help take some of that financial burden off their shoulders while they grieve. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, and supported Bryanna and Mabel through this. Your kindness has meant more than you know.
Rest easy, sweet Mabel. You fought so hard and were so very loved. ❤️

Please help our own Bryanna get the care she needs for her sweet dog, Mabel. ❤️🐾

Mabel is just 3 years old and battling Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia. After multiple ER visits, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and medications, her family has already paid $6,800.

As groomers, this is probably one of the biggest complaints we hear right up there with having to shave a matted dog 😂🐾

“Were their nails even clipped? They still feel sharp!”

While it’s absolutely possible that we may forget nails from time to time (we’re human! 🤪), it’s definitely a rarity. Nail trimming is actually one of the first steps of the grooming process. The exception is a dog who becomes very stressed by having their nails done in that case, we may wait until the end to avoid starting their groom on a stressful note.

Here’s something many pet parents don’t realize: freshly clipped nails can actually feel SHARPER ✂️

Every dog’s nails are different depending on their age, how quickly they grow, how often they’re trimmed, and the length of the quick. We can only safely trim them back so far.

We also love using the Dremel to smooth those freshly cut edges, but not every dog will tolerate the sound or sensation of it and we will never force them. 💗

Our priority is always to get your pet’s nails as short and smooth as we safely can while keeping their comfort and stress level in mind.

Sometimes a freshly clipped nail is a sharp nail but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t clipped! 🐾
