Meet Snickers!
An 18-pound terrier mix who has been on this earth long enough to know what he likes, what he doesn't like, and exactly how he plans to file his complaints when things don't go his way.
Snickers has received a dental and neuter while in our care, but unfortunately, we have yet to find a procedure that fixes his attitude about kennel cleaning time and being loved on during inconvient times. Every day, staff must move him so we can clean his area, and every day, Snickers acts like we've personally ruined his entire retirement. Sir, we're trying to give you a clean room. PLEASE.
Thankfully, one of our amazing fosters stepped up to temporarily bail this grumpy little grandpa out of doggy jail, and we're already learning so much about him!
Turns out Snickers likes being in a home WAY more than being at the shelter.
Who would've guessed?!
He's noticeably less cranky outside of the shelter, enjoys short and frequent strolls, and is happy to meet new people and dog friends. His house manners have been very good so far, and he seems to be thoroughly enjoying his temporary retirement away from the chaos.
Now, before you get any ideas, if you're looking for a purse puppy to carry around like your emotional support handbag or a cuddle buddy you can scoop up whenever you feel like it, Snickers is NOT your guy.
This man is retired, not a teddy bear!
He accepts affection on his own terms, at his own pace, and according to a schedule that he will absolutely NOT be sharing.
When he's ready for love, he'll let you know.
Until then, please respect his privacy during this difficult time. (His difficult time is usually just being mildly inconvenienced.)
Turns out, Snickers isn't necessarily always a grumpy old man. He's just a man with standards.
We're hoping someone will give this little gentleman the forever home he's been waiting for. If you appreciate a senior dog who knows his mind, enjoys the simple things, and doesn't believe in pretending to like something just to spare your feelings, Snickers might be your guy.
Adopt Snickers. Give this man his retirement home before he files another formal complaint.
