Happy chilly rainy Monday everyone!
Updates on Sarah and Boomer and they are all positive!!!!
Both had their feet trimmed Saturday afternoon. Boomer has one hind foot in pretty rough shape but other three seem solid. Sarah had foundered sometime in the last few months (from stress, clearly not from over eating 😡) but dropping the angle in her heels and squaring off her toes to help relieve pressure for now made a huge difference. As we progress if we feel X-rays of her front feet are warranted we will have those done.
Both received their first red light and MagnaWave treatments yesterday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sarah especially has perked up since.
We got bloodwork results back just a little bit ago and while we do have some levels that are low or off balance, nothing is dangerously so and can all be attributed to their starved condition. The best news there is both liver and kidney function for both horses are normal!!!!! That is a huge worry crossed off the list.
I must admit we are weary today as there just seems to be no consequences from any authority anywhere for the owners who did this to these horses. I do hope we can get some laws changed in the county and state to protect horses very soon. Authorities hands are just tied and it’s so very frustrating. This situation didn’t have to happen. It was completely avoidable and today I think I’ve reached the angry stage of this progress. I will do my best to keep it in check and focus on the continued recovery of these amazingly sweet kind souls.
Dentals tomorrow! More supplies have been arriving and I can’t put into words how humbled and grateful we are for each and every single one. From Sarah and Boomer. THANK YOU ALL❤️
