Flew in for a day to check out some properties and turned around and went right back home in utter disbelief.

Little snapshot into the table I did for Eclectic Design Source 50th anniversary dinner party here in Austin ✨

It was a vaguely coastal Italian theme, so of course lemons and tomatoes made for the centerpiece and candle holders (plus some cute Martha Stewart tomato taper candles!!)

Interest rate increase isn’t helping the cause with our very modest budget of 450k max, buuuuuut I am a forever optimist and know someone knows someone who is looking to sell and have the chillest real estate transaction of their lives.

And maybe eventually a General Store with hardware your grandma’s boyfriend will be SO impressed by, he will talk about for years (true story).

We have faith the right person will see this!

It’s been over 3 years of looking for that elusive, “dated” home on 3-5+ AG acres in the McHenry County IL area.

I think we’ve seen everything on the market 😅 It’s basically been a FT job at this point!

Maybe, just maybe, the right person who is getting ready to sell their farmette will see the post and will feel good knowing it’s going to good hands that will be the new stewards.

✨The right place is out there waiting, and until then we are dreaming up ways to grow fresh produce, host events, and if we’re really dreaming BIG….a general store and cabin rental get away ✨

No pączki? No problem! They aren’t easy to come by in Austin so I made my own and filled them with Vanilla Mascarpone and OMG…. So pillowy & light with a slightly sweet filling that tastes like melted vanilla ice cream. Filled the others with a cherry rosemary jam.

Girls 👏 don’t 👏 want 👏 an open concept modern farm house, they want a long gravel road leading up to a grandma’s cottage that hasn’t been “updated” and has a dining room with walls (what do people have against walls omgggg stop taking them out you dingussss) and a landline and dangerously narrow stairs 😤😤😤😤

We’re all ears- slide into our DMs! We sold ours in 2022 & moved to Austin. It’s been fun (and really, really hotttttt omggggg I’m not cut out for this) but we’re itching to get back.

Our dream?

Grandma & grandpa’s place, hardly updated but lovingly maintained on a few quiet AG acres. To be the new stewards of a place with so many good family memories and continue them on in our own way.

We have no plan or time frame, just a dream and a desire to make it happen ✨

We miss you and daydream about the farm ALL THE TIME.

Will we be back? Gosh, I hope so (anyone’s grandparents selling an AG farmette?!!)!

TIL then, we’re in Austin and pretending it’s not 90° 🥴 and eating all the bbq- if you ever find yourself down here and need recommendations, we got you!!
