I thought I was done shearing for the year but I had a couple more jobs to do. These two alpacas are owned by a wonderful couple that rescued them. They are about 3-4 years old and had never been shorn. When we were done the white one was running around the field. The owner had never seen him acting like that. He was like a brand new happy alpaca. I am happy that I agreed to one last job today!

We gave the two alpacas at the Capron Park Zoo a new do. We had a blast shearing at the zoo and hearing the lions roaring while we were shearing. As a vet tech I enjoyed meeting the zoo vet and asking her questions. It was a great day. This is a great zoo to visit!

Her military experience might come in handy when restraining the alpacas. I don’t think that the suspects she is used to spits their stomach contents at her but she must have been around a lot of camels in Kuwait, right? They are almost the same 🤣
