Flying Duck Farm Horse Sanctuary

Flying Duck Farm Horse Sanctuary "A forever home for those in need." Each and every day I am looking for ways to expand to help more animals and people.

It started out with a few ducks (hence the farm name) and now we have chickens, goats and horses along with cats, dogs and bunnies. I am fortunate enough to have a number of our horses sponsored by some of our great supporters. This helps me continue to do what I do for animals. I don't like labels, but if necessary I'd say this is a sanctuary. There are too many animals and people out there that

need help and I want to do what I can. This is a safe place that is what matters. I've always loved helping animals and people and am slowly incorporating the two. About half of the animals we currently have are rescued animals that have come here to get/be healthy, loved and safe. My thoughts are NEVER give up until you've tried everything possible. Everyone and everything deserves a shot at a GREAT life! Life isn't a contest of who can have the most money or items, its about what you do with your time.

Stewy decided he was going to supervise their water delivery this morning.

Yesterday I sent him out in the larger pasture to graze with his friends. He seemed a bit tilted later on. But he was moving around fine and acting fine. Today he and his friends will stay in their paddocks with their hay, fans and run ins so he can allow his body to rest.

My little farm hand saw me filling the hay bag, ran over and grabbed up hay and got to work.

Once I get started…. It’s kinda hard to stop and then it might get a bit awkward…. 🤪🤦🏼‍♀️

Dr. Mike recommended adding this to Stewy’s food to protect his stomach while taking bute. As I suspected….Stewy was not a fan of it. He’s going to realize that Momma is just as stubborn as he is.

Apparently breakfast was too early for Buddy this morning. 🤣

Did you know that Buddy is named after my father’s nickname….theres a reason for that. Buddy came to join the family on my parents wedding anniversary. That also happens to be Valentines Day. We also hoped that he would be buddies with Snickers who needed a younger horse to play with. And it turns out they became the bestest of friends. That’s how Buddy got his name. 💙

Good morning!
Stewy wanted to let you all know he’s improving! We are seeing a straighter back end and less compensating and bracing when standing or moving around. He definitely had me worried! He holds a special place in our hearts.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, thoughts and concerns. We felt the love for sure!
