Koda, the German Shepherd puppy, came in last weekend for her very first puppy visit with Dr. Lilley 🐾

While she was here, she was offered some cheese — and to no one’s surprise, she loved every bite! 🧀😋 This sweet girl was more than happy to stick out her tongue to enjoy every bit of that yummy yellow gold.

We loved getting to meet Koda and cannot wait to watch her grow!

There are so many things our furry friends want to explore through their mouths and paws, and with that curiosity can come risks from toxins both seen and unseen. If you feel your pet has ingested or been exposed to a toxin, please contact Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital, your nearest Emergency facility, Pet Poison helpline or the ASPCA Poison Control immediately. Fast action can make all the difference in your pet’s care and recovery.

Trickum Ridge Animal Hospital patient spotlight ✨
Lola came in today sporting her adorable little ducky pajamas and carrying her emotional support frisbee everywhere she went. 🐥🐣🐤🥏 While this sweet girl gets a little nervous at the vet, she powered through her visit and left with a smile on her face. We’re so proud of you, Lola! 💕

Blood work is one of the most valuable tools in veterinary medicine—it gives a clear look at what’s happening inside your pet’s body, often before any outward signs of illness appear.
Why it matters:
1. Early detection
2. Establishes a baseline
3. Safety prior to procedures
4. Monitors ongoing conditions
5. Gives peace of mind

Bottom line:
Routine blood work isn’t just for sick pets—it’s a key part of preventive care that helps your pet live a longer, healthier life.
