❣️ ADOPTED & LOVED ❣️

12-year-old Andy, now named Wally, is officially living the good life!

His new mom was looking for a kitty who enjoyed the finer things in life - lounging, relaxing, and simply hanging out together - and he was more than happy to accept the job.

Since going home, Wally has picked out his favorite lounging spots, become the self-appointed supervisor of the staircase, and decided everyone's food should probably be shared with him. He's also been getting to know the rest of the family, including dog sister Susie, and recently set out to investigate a mysterious "meow" that - much to his surprise - turned out to be the family bird. 😹

His mom says he's "so sweet and such a joy to have around," and we couldn't be happier for this handsome senior boy.

Happy life, Wally! We hope your days are filled with cozy naps, full food bowls, and plenty of lounging with your wonderful family. ❤️

Tilly is a 12-year-old tortie with extra toes, extra opinions, and absolutely no interest in blending into the background. 💅

Tilly is playful, social, and convinced that every activity is better if she's involved. She loves people, sunshine, fresh air, and even enjoys wrestling and playing with her cat friends. She does well with her feline roommates, especially those who are willing to engage in a lighthearted play sesh.

Though she's in the double digits, Tilly is healthy, full of personality, and not currently on any daily medications. She's simply looking for a home where she can be adored, entertain her people, and keep life interesting.

If your house could use a little glamour and tortitude, Tilly is ready to move in. ❤️

LAST CHANCE! 🧘‍♂️ Tomorrow (June 13th) is Outdoor Dog Yoga, and we'd hate for you to wake up Sunday morning thinking, "Man, I really should've gone and done yoga with a bunch of senior dogs."

No experience necessary. No one cares if you can't touch your toes. The senior dogs certainly don't.

Just bring a mat, lots of water, and a willingness to stretch in the sunshine before hanging out with some very good old dogs.

Heya, it's Buggy. 🐾 I've been following the humans around the adoption center all day because I'm pretty sure they'll disappear forever if I don't, and I keep hearing things like,

"We need paper towels."
"Do we have more chicken chips?"
"We're down to one ice tray."

Personally, I think what we need is for everyone to stay put where I can see them at all times. But apparently the other stuff is pretty important, too.

7-year-old Chester (right) has officially gone from foster to forever with our very own Chaos Coordinator, Sarah, and her husband, Jeremiah!

Chester is a big, active Lab mix who was becoming increasingly restless in the adoption center. Hoping to give him a better chance to show potential adopters who he really was, Sarah brought him home to foster.

There, he proved he was still the same stubborn, silly Chester we all knew and loved - just a much happier version of himself. He fit right in with YAH alum Sasha, embraced home life, and easily worked his way into his foster family's hearts.

Turns out, all Chester needed was a chance to show everyone who he was outside the adoption center. And somewhere along the way, Sarah and Jeremiah realized this 'foster' wasn't going anywhere.

Sarah shared, "Chester has settled perfectly into our home and life, like he's always been here. He's a silly, happy, loving boy and has especially bonded with Jeremiah. He's becoming a wonderful playmate and companion for Sasha, and we all love him very much - behavioral quirks and all. He has quickly become ours, and we're so happy he found his way home... even if it did take a lot of barking and crying at the Bigs Room door to get here." ❤️

💌 ALUM UPDATE:

Young at Heart alum, Conner Cat, recently celebrated an incredible milestone - his 22nd birthday! 🎉

Adopted over a decade ago, Conner has been there for school pictures, family movie nights, celebrations, heartbreaks, new pets, and all the little everyday moments that make a life. He's grown up right alongside his humans - claiming laps, supervising activities, and making sure no cozy spot on the couch goes unoccupied.

To celebrate his big day, Conner enjoyed a tuna birthday cake, which he enthusiastically devoured before politely requesting seconds. He even agreed to wear a birthday hat... for approximately as long as tuna was involved.

Conner's story is such a beautiful reminder of what senior pet adoption is all about. A senior pet doesn't just become part of your family for a little while. They become part of your story, sharing in the milestones, the quiet moments, and everything in between.

Happy 22nd Birthday, Conner Cat. Thank you for showing us just how extraordinary an ordinary life, shared with a beloved pet, can be. ❤️🎂

We had three new senior kitties make their rescue ride to Young at Heart this weekend! 😻

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Pam, for helping get these sweet souls safely to us. Right now, they're busy settling in, decompressing, and learning that this new chapter comes with full bellies, soft beds, and lots of love.

For now, you'll have to settle for this little sneak peek of Animal Care Team member Olivia escorting them to their new digs. We'll share proper introductions and glamorous portraits once everyone's feeling a little more comfortable and ready for their close up.

Come for the yoga. Stay because a cute senior dog sat next to your mat and now you're emotionally attached. 🧘‍♀️🐶

Join us Saturday, June 13th for Outdoor Dog Yoga in Peaches' Meadow! You'll enjoy a relaxing, beginner-friendly yoga class surrounded by nature and our senior dogs - followed by a 30 minute social with the real stars of the event.

No yoga experience is needed. Just bring a mat (or towel), some water, and a willingness to accept that your downward dog may be upstaged by an actual dog.

Don't take it from us, though. Here's what one past participant had to say:
"AHHHHH!! That was a literal life-changing experience... every animal melted my heart and it was just all around so amazing." ❤️

❣️ ADOPTED & LOVED ❣️

Sometimes you just know. When long-time supporters Kathie and Mike met 11-year-old Jakey, it was an instant connection. They played, they snuggled, and before long, it was clear he was the one. His new family described his presence as "exactly what we need."

Now known as Henry, he's settling beautifully into home life. He's enjoying daily walks, playing with his toys, making friends with the resident cat, working hard on his potty training, and most importantly, being adored.

His family says he's become Kathie's little shadow, following her everywhere she goes. When she's not home, he remembers that he also likes Mike. 😉 They made sure to add that they "love him to death."

Congratulations to Henry and his wonderful family!
