Your dog lives with you.
Not with me.

I can teach.
I can coach.
I can show you exactly what to do.

But if nobody practices between sessions, even the smartest training plan becomes an expensive piece of paper.

We can't fix it without your help.

One Star Because You Heard "No"

Not every one-star review is about bad service.

Sometimes it's about not getting your way.

Recently, someone applied for a position at LECA. We talked, we evaluated, and we decided it wasn't the right fit. That happens. Not every dog belongs in every home, and not every trainer belongs in every facility.

The response?

A one-star Google review.

Apparently, some people now treat reviews like an emotional support weapon. Didn't get the job? One star. Didn't hear what you wanted? One star. Didn't get your way? You know the drill.

Here's the problem: reviews are supposed to help people evaluate a business. They're not supposed to be revenge for a bruised ego.

The good news is that most people can spot the difference.

The bad news is that Grumpy Max still has to talk about it.

A puppy in a pet store window is designed to make you fall in love.

And that's exactly the problem.

Most responsible breeders don't place their puppies in stores. They carefully screen potential owners, answer questions, and remain a resource throughout the dog's life. They care where their puppies end up.

Buying a puppy should never be an impulse decision.

Whether you adopt from a shelter or purchase from a reputable breeder, take the time to research where your puppy comes from. Ask questions. Meet the breeder. See the parents if possible. Learn about the breed's needs and health history.

A dog will share your life for the next 10 to 15 years.

Don't let a few minutes of emotion determine the next decade of responsibility.

Your dog deserves a thoughtful beginning.

Your Dog Called. He Wants Bacon Back. ๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿถ

Humans have all kinds of diets. Keto. Paleo. Vegan. Carnivore. Gluten-free. Air and good intentions.

Your dog doesn't.

Dogs don't care about your lifestyle, your social media bio, or your latest documentary. They care about being dogs.

Too many people make the mistake of treating their dogs like tiny humans. They aren't. They have different nutritional needs, different digestive systems, and different instincts.

Feed your dog based on what's best for the dog, not what aligns with your personal beliefs.

Here's the part nobody likes to hear:
Your dog shouldn't have to participate in your philosophy.

Now, before the comment section starts sharpening its pitchforks... yes, a properly formulated vegetarian or vegan diet can meet the nutritional needs of some dogs under veterinary supervision. But that's the exception, not the reason to project our own values onto our pets.

At LECA, we believe dogs deserve to be treated like dogs. Their needs come first. Every single time.

๐Ÿพ Agree? Disagree? Tell Grumpy Max what you think.

08/07/2026

Your future problems often begin with your choice of dog.

A client once told Max he gave his 80-year-old mother a Belgian Malinois.

That's not a gift.
That's a full-time job with teeth.

We see it all the time.

๐Ÿบ A Husky living where summer never seems to end.
โ„๏ธ A Whippet expected to enjoy freezing winters.
โšก A high-drive working dog living with someone who just wants a quiet companion.

None of these dogs are "bad."

They're simply in the wrong environment.

Before you fall in love with a breed because of its looks or because you saw one on Instagram, ask yourself:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Does this dog's energy, instincts, size, and needs actually fit my lifestyle?

The best dog isn't the one you want.

It's the one both of you can live happily with for the next 10 to 15 years.

Sometimes the biggest mistake isn't how you raise your dog.

It's the dog you chose in the first place.

๐Ÿšจ Grumpy Max is back... and this one needed to be said.

A major pet retailer recommending a prong collar for a puppy? That's not training. That's skipping straight past education and hoping the tool does the work.

A prong collar is not where training begins.

Puppies need:
๐Ÿพ Clear communication
๐Ÿพ Structure
๐Ÿพ Consistency
๐Ÿพ Positive experiences
๐Ÿพ A trainer who teaches you as much as your dog

Training tools have a time, a place, and should only be introduced when they're appropriate and by someone who knows how to use them correctly.

Don't let bad advice create problems that never needed to exist.

๐Ÿ‘‡ What's the worst dog advice you've ever been given?

Take good care of your pups this weekend.

๐Ÿพ Your job this summer:
Stay aware. Stay prepared. Donโ€™t โ€œwing itโ€ in the heat.
