🇺🇸 Celebrate Safely: July 4th Pet Tips from Compassion Animal Hospital 🐾
Fireworks, family, and festivities make the Fourth of July exciting—but it can be overwhelming for your pets. At Compassion Animal Hospital, we want to make sure your furry companions stay calm, safe, and happy this coming holiday.
Here’s how you can help:
🎇 Calm the Fireworks Fear:
Keep pets inside before the fireworks begin—many pets run away trying to escape the noise.
Drown out the noise with fans, soft music, or white noise in a closed-off room.
Ask your vet about calming solutions like supplements, anxiety wraps, or prescription medications if your pet is especially nervous.
🍗 Holiday Foods = Hidden Hazards: No BBQ scraps! Common picnic foods like corn cobs, ribs, grapes, and desserts can be toxic or cause blockages.
Keep drinks out of reach—alcohol, soda, and sugary punches are a no-go for pets.
🌞 Summer in the Rockies:
Limit time outdoors during peak heat, especially for flat-faced breeds, older pets, or those with thick coats.
Plenty of shade and water—even in our cooler mountain climate, dehydration and overheating can happen fast.
🐕 Don’t Forget the ID:
Double-check tags and microchips—make sure your contact info is current in case your pet slips out during the festivities.
Secure doors and gates before the party starts to avoid any escape artists.
📍 Serving Woodland Park and the surrounding communities, Compassion Animal Hospital is here for your pet’s health and safety year-round.
