My life has never been average and having the opportunity to help others around the world is just another chapter.

I'm 4 days into almost 10 days of traveling to help Lili and her family live a more harmonious life. Tomorrow we'll add another client to the mix; one of Lili's littermates. This family is not just saving the life of a puppy who was found in a bag on the street but also ensuring she thrives.

Not everyone has the opportunities Lili's family have. But their generosity in bringing me to their home country of Argentina means they share this opportunity with the other families who adopted Lili's siblings for free.

Making a difference, even in this short time, is something I always underestimate the power of. They went from destruction, aggression, fear, and an unsure future to peace, understanding, and a rich life shared within and outside their home with Lili.

What have we worked on so far? (We train in Argentinian Spanish, but here is the list in English)

This training has been over 3 of the 4 days I've been here/traveling. Sessions are frequent and worked into already EXISTING daily / hourly routines in a SUSTAINABLE way for Lili's family. Each family has different routines, varying expectations, and their homes are different. So tailoring training to the specific dog & family is important.

TW because this will definitely take your attention away from everything else. 😂 Have I had a service dog for mire of my life than not? Yes. Does that mean we stop celebrating when they get a task right? No.

Encouraging your dog when they accomplish positive behaviors doesn't need to end just because they learned to associate it with a command. It's a way to build a stronger bond with your dog. Everyone likes to be celebrated 🥳

Keeshonds (like handsome Apollo here), border terriers, basenjis, and wolf hounds are some of my favorite rare breeds I've worked with over the years.

One of my favorite things about people with rare breeds is that they usually do a lot of research before buying or adopting their dog.

It sets them off to a great start, because they have a clear understanding of their dog's needs.

All breeds were bred for very specific purposes and trying to fight those instincts is a losing game.

People who research before buying tend to flourish when they've been given achievable goals and activities to help their dog work with their instincts.

Dog days of summer have a whole different meaning at my house. 😜 Did I buy this Subaru of America specifically because it fits 2 dog beds, has a safety attachment bracket, tinted windows, a sun roof, and rubber lining for my dogs? No... Ok yes I did. Giving those I love the best life possible makes me happy.
