We are incredibly devastated about the fires in Los Angeles. Despite being 3,000 miles away, we want to not only speak out, but also share some resources specifically focused on the safety and care of horses that have been affected.
- Fleet of Angels - a nonprofit whose mission is to help horse owners and small rescues who need emergency funds for emergencies such as wildfires.
- The Equestrian Aid Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund - Provides emergency grants to cover essential costs.
- American Humane Society - Has created an Emergency Relief Fund for Animals to provide food, water, and basic essentials for animals that need immediate assistance from the fires.
- Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control - Since the fires, they have been coordinating evacuation shelters for large and small animals. Their efforts are focused on more in person help and they are currently seeking experienced volunteers to assist with the mucking for over 200 horses.
- USEF Disaster Relief Fund - Working with agencies and organizations to help equine populations. This relief fund is managed by the U.S. Equestrian Association
