Please join us in saying a bittersweet goodbye to Amisha, our Client Care Coordinator. Amisha (and her kitty Scooby) joined the NECC team 2 years ago, using her background in Animal Behavior and as a veterinary technician to help provide the thoughtful and comprehensive care for your pets that we always strive for.

Her last official day in the office will be Friday September 18th, though she will continue to answer emails and authorize prescriptions as able throughout our office closure the following week (Sept 21st – 25th). Feel free to reach out with questions, prescription refills, and well wishes in the coming weeks. We will miss Amisha greatly and wish her the best of luck in her next adventure!

Just a friendly reminder our office will be closed next Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28 as we celebrate the wedding of our doctors’ daughter Lucy!

Please remember to call ahead for any prescription refills or other needs so we can make sure you’re taken care of before the office closes.

For any veterinary emergency while we are closed, please contact your nearest veterinary emergency hospital.

Yesterday afternoon, the Richter and NECC family had to say goodbye to our beloved office kitty, Miss Stewie. At 18 years old, many clients may not have even known there was an office cat, as Stewie mostly kept to the Doctor’s office. But for those of us who knew her, Stewie was a cherished member of the family. Stewie came to NECC in 2008, when she and her siblings were abandoned at the practice. For the past 18 years, she brought so much love, comfort, and personality to the NECC family. Stewie was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed. We are so grateful for all the years we were lucky enough to have her. 🐾❤️

*Formula change to Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Fiber Response dry food!*

Due to ingredient supply, dried chicory root will be replaced by dried beet pulp. Though these changes are minor, if your kitty has a sensitive stomach you may want to transition slowly when switching from an old bag to a new one. You can do this by mixing them together in increasing ratios (25% new food, then 50%, 75%, then 100%) over the course of a week. Feel free to reach out to our office or directly to Royal Canin with any questions!

It has been a difficult start to the year for NECC and the Richter family. It is with heavy hearts that the doctors and their daughters share the passing of one of their three kitties, Marbles. Marbles was Playful’s sister, who many of you know passed away last month. Late last Friday, this cherished member of our family crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving behind precious memories and a paw print on our hearts. Marbles brought us so much love and joy. She will be deeply missed.

Late last Friday night, the doctors and their daughters had to say goodbye to one of their four kitties, Playful. Originally from a litter of five abandoned at NECC in 2008, Playful was adopted by the doctor’s daughter, Sarah. We want to remember all of the love and happy moments Playful shared with us:
“Helping” the girls with their annual Christmas jigsaw puzzle by walking across the pieces and getting them stuck to his paws giving him the nickname, Sticky Paws.
Dr. Richter having to sneak him extra treats without the other kitties knowing.
“Sneaking” into the basement once a week with Dr Arcuri. (They had a “no cats in the basement” rule.)
And of course all of the love and cuddles he shared with us all. He will be truly missed.
