Barke Diem Private dog walking and pet sitting services. Doggy (birthday-) parties and dog bakery. About me:
Hello, my name is Tanya and I was born and raised in Germany.

I moved to Lake Ridge, VA in August of 2016 with my family and three dogs. I had my first foster dog at the age of nine, have been pet sitting ever since then and have been an Animal Activist since I was 13 years old.
2005 - 2016 I worked with several countries throughout Europe to help save dogs and cats and keep them off the streets. The last 5 years living in Germany, I did Home-Checks and After-Adoption-Home visits for different Animal Shelters throughout Germany and Europe. This was a great experience, lots of fun and I learned so much during this time. While living in Germany, I also bred different types of Reptiles, such as Snakes, Turtles, Lizards, and Chameleons. Throughout the years I not only helped save all sorts of animals, I've also owned Cats, Dogs, Skunks, African Porcupine, different kinds of Birds, Rats, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs, Mice, Ferrets, Fish and lots of different Reptiles and Turtles...

I am certified by D.O.G.S. Germany, which is a Training Center comparable to e.g. Cesar Milan in 'Body Language and Communication of Dogs'. I attended this course with my dog Maja, which I rescued 2013 from the horrible streets of Bucharest, Romania. I cannot imagine a life without animals! ❤

I bring lots of experience with me and am willing and open to learn more and expand my knowledge. I look forward helping families and their pets in my Community and help make their daily lives a bit easier and more relaxed...

Carpe Diem - which is a Latin aphorism - and means 'Seize the Day' is my motto and I'd like to give that back to your dog(s)/pet(s), which is why I named this service "Barke Diem" - Seizing the day for your dog(s) and other pet(s). 😊

I can't wait to meet you and your fur-family! Tanya 🐾❤

October is one of my favorite months for a few reasons. First off, the mornings are cooler and the leaves are starting to change. It's refreshing to go outside in the morning and not be hit with a blast of heat. Second, it is Spooky Season. The decorations, the costumes and of course, the candy.

Unfortunately, all of these things can be extremely dangerous for our curious pets. Not to mention the risk of pets running away during trick or treating. Please be cautious and use as many safety precautions as possible to prevent illness and injury.

Did you know there is a dedicated poison control hotline for pets? They'll give you invaluable information for our ability to treat your pet. For more information visit them at:

24/7 Animal Poison Control Center for both Pet Owners and Veterinarians. If your dog, cat, or other pet is poisoned, call 855-764-7661
