Clipping a cat without proper training isn’t just risky… it can lead to 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐲.

Here’s why 👇
🔹 Their skin is extremely thin (as little as 0.4–2mm) and tears easily.
🔹 Their skin moves freely, increasing the risk of cuts during clipping with normal clipper strokes.
🔹 They are fast, flexible, and unpredictable. They will try to escape if stressed.
🔹 Stress escalates quickly, and cats can go from still → reactive in seconds.

Clipping isn’t just “removing hair”
🔸 A cat’s coat is protection and insulation, not something to remove unnecessarily.
🔸 Wrong tools or technique can cause injury, even with small mistakes.
🔸 Anatomy knowledge is critical to avoid causing harm.
🔸 Health conditions matter; arthritis, skin issues, stress levels all affect the groom as bd risk levels.
🔸 Some cats require special handling and adjustments based on breed and medical needs.

Here’s today’s cuties. I had to slow down their grooms today. This loud storm had them a little nervous but that’s ok because I love spending time with both of these handsome boys.

🐶 Puppy Policy
At Flying Fur Dog Spa & Boarding, puppies are welcome once they have received their second round of vaccinations. Young puppies are especially vulnerable to disease, and waiting until they have begun building immunity helps provide a safer experience.

📋 Proof of current vaccinations is required at the time of your appointment.
