There’s just something special about getting outside, soaking up the sunshine, and spending a little extra time with our dogs. ❤️ Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood, a trip to the park, or a longer adventure, these cooler days are the perfect excuse to grab a leash and make some memories with your best friend.

🐾❤️ Celebrating World Animal Month! ❤️🐾

October is a special month for us because, well… animals are kind of our whole world! 🥰

Every day at Frenship Vet Clinic, we get to meet so many wonderful pets and the people who love them. From the puppy who can’t sit still to the senior dog who has been your best friend for years to the sassy cat who makes it very clear that they are in charge—we’re grateful for every one of them. 🐶🐱🐰🐾

Our pets give us companionship, laughter, comfort, and a whole lot of unconditional love. They become part of our families, and caring for them is something we’re truly honored to be a part of.

This month, we’re celebrating ALL animals—the ones curled up on our couches, the ones running around our farms, and every animal, big or small, that makes this world a better place. 🌎❤️

💙 THIS MONTH, WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT ISN’T EASY TO TALK ABOUT.

September is Su***de Awareness Month.

And while our job is to care for your pets, there is something we think is important for our community to know:

Veterinary professionals are people, too.

Behind every veterinarian, technician, receptionist, kennel assistant, and support team member is a person who may be carrying things you can't see.

We celebrate happy moments with your pets.
We comfort you during difficult diagnoses.
We hold your hand through goodbye.
We worry about the patients who aren't doing well.
We go home thinking about the ones we couldn't save.

Veterinary medicine has one of the highest su***de risks among professional fields, and veterinary teams face unique pressures that can take a toll on mental health.

So this September, we're not just checking on our pets.
We're checking on each other.

💙 Ask your coworker how they're really doing.
💙 Give yourself permission to not be okay.
💙 Reach out when things feel too heavy.
💙 Listen without judgment.
💙 Remind someone that asking for help is not a weakness.

And if you're struggling right now, please don't carry it alone.

🦔🐶 KNIGHT VS. THE PORCUPINE: A LESSON IN “DON’T GET TOO CURIOUS!” 🐾

Knight learned the hard way that sometimes our curiosity can get us into a little bit of trouble! 😳

Porcupine quills are designed to stick — and when a curious dog gets a little too close, those quills can end up in the face, mouth, paws, or even deeper tissues.

🚨 If your dog meets a porcupine, remember:

❌ Don’t try to pull the quills out yourself
❌ Don’t cut or break the quills
❌ Don’t let your dog rub or paw at their face
✅ Keep them as calm and still as possible
✅ Give your veterinarian a call and have them examined

Even if you can see and remove a few quills, there may be others hiding in the mouth, between the toes, or under the skin.

Thankfully, Knight made it to the clinic where we could get him taken care of! ❤️

The takeaway: Porcupines aren't trying to pick a fight with your pup — they're simply protecting themselves. But if your curious canine gets a little too close, don't wait it out. 🐶🦔

And Knight? We hope he’s officially learned that some friends are better admired from a distance. 😂❤️

🐾 Corgi Cuteness Overload! 🐾

We had a whole basket full of Corgi puppies stop by the clinic today, and we’re pretty sure productivity came to a complete halt. 😂💙

Those little legs, big ears, blue eyes, and sweet faces were just too much to handle! 🥹🐶

🐾💙 Meet the FVC Family: Adrian! 💙🐾

This week we're excited to introduce Adrian, one of our wonderful Vet Techs!

Adrian has been part of the Frenship Veterinary Clinic family for about 4 months, but she brings an impressive 5½ years of experience in the veterinary field. Her experience, dedication, and love for animals have made her a wonderful addition to our FVC family!

At home, Adrian has quite the crew of her own—2 dogs and SIX cats! 🐶🐶🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱 Clearly, her love for animals doesn't stop when she leaves the clinic! 😂🐾

When she's not at work, you might find Adrian cooking, spending time with her family, or out on the lake cruising in a boat. 🚤☀️ And when she's ready for a little downtime, she loves settling in to watch a movie—especially if it's a horror movie! 👻🎬

Adrian is also a busy mom to three teenagers, who keep her on her toes and make sure there is never a dull moment! ❤️

We're so thankful Adrian found her way to Frenship Veterinary Clinic. Her experience, warm personality, and love for animals make her such a valued part of our team, and we're excited to have her as part of the FVC family!
