This week, the puppies have been experiencing their puppy “mush,” which is a mix of puppy food and warm raw goats milk, courtesy of the La Mancha goats here on the farm. This video shows them enjoying it! As they get older, we will put less milk in with the puppy kibble, so they eventually have to eat it dry.

Reese is small but mighty. She instantly started exploring when she was placed in the play area. She's got more of a petite stature and may stay a bit smaller (though she's not tiny, weight-wise). She seems to naturally stack herself and she poses! Very sweet girl. She will probably lose her super-thin blaze as she grows.

Bonbon is a very confident pup. While she definitely did check in with me, she didn't *run* over to me the way some pups did, and she took he time about it. She cried the least out of all the pups, when she was separated from her littermates. By far, Bonbon was the most confident and most sure of herself of all the little fuzzballs. Looks like she may have two blue (or two partially blue) eyes.

Toffee is a curious pup. She likes to check new things out, but then likes to retreat to the safety of a human or her littermates. Overall, she decided that I was more fun than wandering around the play area, but we're sure that will change with time.

Twix was initially more adventurous of a pup.... and then she realized she was alone... and howled for days. Absolutely adorable. She actually showed a tiny bit of interest in the toys (only pup to at this age). At this time, Twix is the most outgoing and adventurous pup of the bunch. Very bold and brave.

Update -- so far, Pixie is the only pup that is reserved!

Pixie appears to be more of a bold and outgoing pup. From the get-go, she was off and exploring the play area. Interestingly enough, though, whereas all the other pups eventually came over and checked in with the people, Pixie never did. Also interesting was the fact that Pixie spent much of her time trying to escape out of the side of the playpen, whereas none of the other pups tried this. Apparently very goal-motivated... she wanted to get out, that way, and she was going to figure out how to make it happen! Looks like she might have one blue (or partially blue) eye.

Skittles is more of a shy, velcro-pup, at least at this stage in her development. She appreciates being close to either her littermates or a person who is loving on her... and she will cry endlessly if she's separated for too long. When again put away from her people or her siblings, she will scamper right back. We know she will learn that being on her own is a-ok, but for now, she prefers snuggles (don't we all??).
