What a weekend at the Virginia Equestrian Commonwealth Games! Everyone had great rides, connected with new friends and old, and our horses are just the very, very best (all the boys and Lottie!). We are bringing home a team gold in dressage and can’t wait to defend it next year!

Huge thank you to Gammon Castellvi, Tamla Nichols, and everyone else who volunteered their time and expertise for this incredible show, and to SWVA Dressage Association and the Virginia Horse Industry Board for supporting our riders!

And of course, we are the luckiest barn around to have Katie Kelly as our trainer extraordinaire—thanks, Katie!

What a great barn family. Each rider and their companion horses had a wonderful show this weekend. Hill of Dreams is so lucky to have such an amazing group of people. So proud and grateful. Kicking off the 2026 show season in style! Congratulations to Emory Price, Taylor Crush, and Nicole Terrill on their successful schooling show at Mane Gait in Lexington. Also with Taylor and Nicole at a follow up showing at the licensed show at Tryon. Such an amazing group of horses and riders. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the 2026 show season brings.

Spring cleaning at HOD! Staff is busy power washing stalls, dusting all the high up nooks and crannies (with Guinness supervising), scrubbing stall guards, and uncovering the stall fans for next week’s hot weather.

Making sure our paddocks are full of healthy grass. Spring seeding is taking place this weekend. Thank you Amanda Roberts for letting us borrow your Dad to get this done.

We are currently seeking weekend staff for our facility, 8:00-4:30 Sat. & Sun.(Weekday hours also available) Job entails horse care such as turning in and out, feeding, blanket changes and basic facility maintenance. Applicants must be 16+ with reliable transportation and experience working with horses. We value independence and reliability.
We have a friendly staff and lovely boarders and are looking forward to having someone new join our team.

When you’ve been stuck in your stall for 2 whole days.

The HOD team is hard at work (including Purdy the cat) keeping our horses, fed watered and safe. We have about 4 inches of snow and the light sleet started at around midnight. Field boarders are warm and dry under thier heavy blankets and our barn residents are enjoying balmy 38 degree stalls
