It’s Vet Tech Week!
This week, we are celebrating the incredible veterinary technicians and assistants, who are truly the heart and soul of Summit Animal Hospital!
Veterinary medicine is so much more than cuddling puppies and kittens (although that’s definitely a perk!). It’s long days, emotional moments, difficult cases, and countless responsibilities that often go unnoticed.
Our technicians are the ones monitoring anesthesia, running lab work, placing IV catheters, taking radiographs, comforting nervous patients, educating clients, and assisting with everything from routine appointments to life-saving emergencies. They’re also the ones sitting on the floor with a scared dog, giving extra love to a hospitalized patient, and offering comfort during some of the hardest goodbyes.
They are nurses, anesthetists, phlebotomists, dental hygienists, laboratory technicians, patient advocates, and professional animal snugglers all rolled into one!
But what makes our team so special isn’t just their knowledge and skills. It’s their compassion, dedication, work ethic, and genuine love for every animal that walks through our doors.
As a privately-owned veterinary hospital, we take tremendous pride in the team we’ve built. We couldn’t provide the level of medicine and personalized care that we do without these incredible individuals.
To our amazing technicians and assistants: THANK YOU! Thank you for the long hours, the hard work, the laughter, the tears, and treating our patients like your own. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are so incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Summit family.
