Dry wall is finished and textured. Painters are currently on site doing their thing!
Epoxy floors are on the schedule for next week followed by casework.

February is Pet Dental Health Month!

Dental health is about so much more than bad breath. Chronic dental disease has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disease, and chronic inflammation - which means oral health affects the entire body.

We often hear:
👉 “He just had a dental 6 months ago—how are his teeth that bad already?”

Imagine if you only went to the dentist every 6 months but never brushed your teeth at home. Dental cleanings are crucial, but daily care matters just as much.

Our recommendations:
• Brush your pet’s teeth daily to every other day. We typically recommend a finger brush for most patients. Tooth paste is not necessary but can make for a more willing pet in some cases.
• Don’t rely on dental chews alone - many dogs chew with only a few teeth, so only those teeth benefit. These chews typically have a large calorie content as well.

Dental cleanings at our hospital include:
✔ Pre-anesthetic bloodwork
✔ Anesthesia
✔ Full-mouth dental radiographs
✔ Scaling and removal of tartar
✔ Polishing
✔ Application of a barrier sealant

To help promote oral health, we’re offering 10% OFF dental cleanings all month long in February!

Our hearts broke today as we lost a great one.

Milo was an Iowa State Patrol dual-purpose K9 from January 2015 to May 2022. During his service, he sniffed out countless kilos of drugs and helped keep our state safe from the bad guys.

But beyond the badge, Milo was pure love - a true love bug who gave the best hugs up on his hind feet. He was the best family dog.

We lost a great one today. Our thoughts are with his handler and family as they mourn an incredible partner and friend.

Please help us welcome the newest member of the Summit Family! Dr. Micaela welcomed her daughter, Lainey Lynn, on Thursday November 6. We are smitten! Momma and Lainey are doing well 🥰

Due to Dr. Micaela being on maternity leave, we will now only be open late on Tuesdays, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
We will no longer have late hours on Thursdays.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Kaylee Endres to our team!

Dr. Endres graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Originally from Milo, Iowa, she now calls Saint Charles home, where she lives with her husband Nick, their daughter Daphne, two adorable Boston Terriers - Moe and Reece - and their cat Whipper.

When she’s not caring for pets, Dr. Endres enjoys running, kickboxing, spending time with friends and family, cooking, crafting, photography, and curling up with a good murder mystery novel.

We’re so excited to have her passion, expertise, and bright personality joining our clinic family. Dr. Endres will be joining our team on November 11 - be sure to say hello and give her a warm welcome next time you stop by!

🐾 Construction Update: Our New Vet Clinic Is Taking Shape!

Things are really coming together at our new clinic! The outside stone is going up this week, and inside, all the walls are framed, with electrical and mechanical work underway as we speak.

It’s amazing to watch our dream clinic come to life step by step, and we can’t wait to welcome you (and your furry family members!) into the new space. If everything stays on track, we’re hoping to move in by mid-January!
