Treat time is also bonding time. 🐱🧡

Did you know that hand feeding your pet occasionally can actually strengthen your bond and build trust, especially with cats who are more reserved?

It also gives you a chance to notice changes in appetite, which can be an early indicator that something is off health wise. 🐾

Halloween can be a lot for exotic pets. Crowds, doorbells, footsteps, and even vibrations can create stress that may be easy to overlook.

If possible, move your exotic pet’s enclosure to a quiet area away from the front door and other high-traffic spaces before the trick-or-treating begins.

A calmer environment can help your pet feel more secure while Halloween activities are happening around them. 🧡

Fall is officially in the air and your flock can feel it. 🐓🍂

Shorter days and cooler temps change what your chickens need from their feed, and October is the month a lot of backyard keepers start noticing the difference in egg production without knowing exactly why.

If you haven't thought about your flock's fall and winter feed program yet, now is a great time to start. 🙌

Turn dinner into playtime! 🐈

Puzzle feeders and food games encourage natural hunting behaviors, slow down fast eaters, and help indoor cats stay active. A simple change can make mealtime healthier and more fun.

Autumn was made for dogs and they know it. 🍂🐾

Crisp air, crunchy leaves, and a pup who is absolutely living their best life. Fall walks are genuinely one of the best things about having a dog. They make you get outside even when you'd rather stay in and for that we are eternally grateful. 🧡

What's your favorite thing about fall walks with your dog?

October pasture looks beautiful but there's something important happening underneath that pretty picture. 🍂🐴

As fall sets in, cool-season grasses can actually spike in nonstructural carbohydrates, especially on cold nights followed by sunny days. For most horses this is not a problem. But for horses that are insulin-resistant, prone to laminitis, or easy keepers, October pasture can be one of the riskiest times of year.

The visual cues that usually signal danger in spring, lush green growth, rapid flush, don't apply the same way in fall. The grass can look sparse and dried out while still carrying elevated sugar levels.

If you manage a horse with metabolic concerns, October is worth paying close attention to. 👀

💙 Ask any of our veterinarians, and you will hear the same thing. The care a patient receives depends just as much on the technician standing beside them.

Help us celebrate the people who make quality veterinary care possible this week. 🎉 🐾
