My social battery only charges around dogs

03/30/2026

If your dog is constantly licking or chewing their paws, it’s not just a quirky habit, it’s a signal. In many cases, it’s your dog’s way of telling you their immune system is reacting to something in their environment. Grass, pollen, lawn chemicals, and everyday irritants can build up on their paws with every step outside. The good news is that something as simple as a daily paw soak can dramatically reduce that exposure and bring real relief, often without the need for medications.
My blog walks you through a gentle, effective at-home routine that helps remove allergens, calm inflammation, and support healing from the outside in. It also covers when to look deeper, including yeast overgrowth, food sensitivities, or parasites, so you can address the root cause, not just the symptoms.

A gentle reminder about arriving on time for your dog’s grooming appointment

We understand life gets busy, but arriving late to a grooming appointment has a bigger impact than many pet owners realize. Just like many doctor, dentist or eye appointments— being late usually means missing your slot and paying a fee. That doesn’t mean there’s no cost. Here’s why being late matters, and how it affects everyone involved:

1. The next dog and owner are affectedYour groomer usually has another appointment booked right after yours. When you’re late, the next client’s dog has to wait longer in a kennel or car—something that can be stressful for them. It’s not fair to make another family pay for your delay.
2. Rush = more stress and lower qualityYour groomer wants to give your dog a calm, careful groom. When appointments run behind, the whole day’s schedule gets squeezed. That often means faster work, more pressure, and a higher chance of mistakes, uneven cuts, or added anxiety for every dog that day—including yours.
3. It directly impacts your groomer’s incomeIf your groomer has to turn you away and ask you to reschedule (which is sometimes necessary), they lose the time and money they had set aside for your appointment. Groomers are small business owners or independent contractors—every missed or shortened appointment affects their livelihood.

What you can do if you’re running late

• Call as soon as you know you’ll be late (even 10–15 minutes makes a difference).
• Be honest about your new arrival time so your groomer can adjust the schedule if possible.
• If you’re more than 15–20 minutes late, be prepared that we may need to shorten the groom or reschedule for the safety and comfort of your dog and others.
• When you do arrive on time (or when we’re still able to accommodate you), please consider showing appreciation with a good tip—your groomer is working hard to make things right despite the disruption.
We love your dogs and truly want them to have the best grooming experience possible. Helping us stay on schedule is one of the biggest ways you can support that. Thank you for understanding and for being part of our grooming family!
