Florida is heating up, and heat index values may reach 105–110° this week. That means conditions can become dangerous quickly for pets, especially during mid-day walks.

At The Savvy Sitter, pet safety always comes first. During extreme heat, our team may adjust visits as needed to keep pets safe, including:

🐶 Shorter potty walks
🌳 More shaded routes
💧 Extra water breaks
🏠 Indoor playtime or enrichment instead of extended outdoor time
🐾 Careful monitoring for signs of overheating

Please make sure your pets have access to cool spaces, fresh water, and any cooling items they may need. For pets who are heat-sensitive, senior, brachycephalic, or medically fragile, we may recommend keeping outdoor time very brief.
