UPDATE 2****I JUST GOT HOME, 10:30. I got 2 more, making our count up to 7 cats. 3 to go!!!

Update*** as of this morning when I went to check on remaining cats, a big orange cat was hiden away in a closet. Has to be a kitty portal because they keep appearing in a closed room. This is now 5 I have in total. Believe there were 8 in the house and 2 outside. Not positive...

The situation with the cats from the home where the owner passed away has become even more challenging.
So far, I have been able to get 4 of the 8 cats to safety. Unfortunately, windows had been left open and several cats escaped before I arrived. Now I have to determine which cats belonged to the homeowner and work on trapping those still outside.
It would have been much easier if they had all remained in the house where I could have safely scooped them up and brought them to safety. Instead, these poor cats are now frightened, stressed, confused, and displaced after losing the only home and person they knew.
The four cats currently in our care are understandably scared. Everything familiar to them has suddenly changed. Right now, they need time, patience, and a quiet place to decompress.
I'll share photos as I get everyone accounted for. I don't have a picture of the fourth cat yet, but I'll post updates as this rescue progresses.
Please keep these sweet babies in your thoughts as we continue searching for and trapping the remaining cats. They deserve the chance to be safe, cared for, and loved again. ❤️🐾

One kitty out making space for another who needs us. 💔

This little girl came to us this morning after being found by a kind couple who unfortunately could not afford the medical care she desperately needed. She has a terrible ear infection. Her ear was hot to the touch and filled with pus, and she was clearly in a lot of pain.

Thankfully, she is now safe with us and already receiving care. We think she is approximately 7 weeks old, and despite everything she has been through, she has such a wonderful personality. We know she is going to blossom once she starts feeling better.

A huge thank you to Amy, one of our amazing cattery volunteers, for stepping up to foster this sweet girl. ❤️

Happy tears over here today… our sweet Brad Pitt has officially been adopted! ❤️🐾
Brad Pitt came to us in rough shape, with a harness painfully embedded into his armpit after it had slipped down — possibly from getting caught on something or from trying to remove it himself. Despite searching for his family, nobody ever came forward for him.
Through it all, Brad Pitt never lost his loving spirit. He quickly became a favorite around here with his gentle personality and endless nose kisses. He truly is one of the sweetest boys we’ve had the pleasure of caring for.
While we are going to miss him so much, there is nothing better than seeing a rescue kitty finally get the happy ending they deserve. Today Brad Pitt begins his new life with a wonderful family who already adores him.
Thank you to everyone who helped support his journey to this moment. Stories like his remind us why we do what we do. ❤️

Today was a very hard day for us. 💔
Today we said goodbye to one of our sweet kitties, Scotty.
Scotty had a rough start in life. He was always a little snotty, but he never let that stop him from being the happiest, sweetest boy. He had such a loving spirit and brought so much joy to everyone who knew him.
Over the last month, Scotty became very sick and developed jaundice. We fought hard to try and turn things around for him, hoping with everything we had that he would recover. But sometimes, the greatest act of love we can give them is letting them go peacefully.
Today, I gave him that gift.
He was no longer eating or drinking, and I could not bear to watch him continue to fade away. We all loved Scotty so very much. This has been an incredibly difficult loss for me and for all of the volunteers who loved and cared for him every day.
Goodbye, sweet boy. Thank you for all the love you gave us. I hope one day I’ll see you again on the other side.

#2 Emergency kitten update 💔

Little Sally had a low temperature when she arrived at our vet this morning. She did have x-rays done, and thankfully there do not appear to be any broken bones or gas buildup at this time.

She is now on pain medication and antibiotics to help keep her comfortable and prevent infection in her injured foot and leg. For now, she is keeping the leg, but that could still change depending on how things progress over the next few days.

One of the amazing front desk ladies at Countryside Veterinary Clinic has offered to foster Sally for us while she recovers. We are so incredibly grateful to Countryside for getting her in immediately and to Kai for stepping up to foster this sweet little girl.

Please keep Sally in your thoughts as she fights to heal. 💕

#1 update
Today a tiny kitten, only about 6 weeks old, was brought to us with a severely swollen leg and foot after becoming tangled in wire or netting for an unknown amount of time. Her little foot and leg are dangling and she does not appear to have any feeling in it.

We rushed her immediately to Countryside Veterinary Service where she is currently being assessed by Dr. Tammy.

We do not yet know the extent of the damage or what her future holds, but we knew she needed help right away. Please keep this sweet baby in your thoughts today as we wait for answers.

Cases like this are heartbreaking and emotionally exhausting, but this is why rescue matters. Thank you to everyone who continues to stand behind us so we can say “yes” when animals are suffering and need urgent care.

If you would like to donate towards her care and vetting, donations can be made directly to our vet or on our website

Every day, more cats are being abandoned on our streets, left scared, hungry, and with nowhere safe to go. Local rescues and shelters are overwhelmed and simply cannot keep up with the growing number of homeless cats in our community.
That’s why we are working toward creating a sanctuary — a safe place where cats who have nowhere else to go can finally land softly. A sanctuary would provide shelter, food, medical care, and love to cats who might otherwise be forgotten.
Together, we can make a difference for the cats that need us most. Join us in helping create a future where more cats are safe, cared for, and given a second chance. 🐾
