✨ A Little Clarification About Our Logo Post! ✨
If you saw our previous post about possibly updating our logo and then noticed it disappeared, there’s a reason!
After reading through the responses and thinking about how we presented everything, we realized that we didn’t make one very important thing clear enough: the examples we shared were simply ideas we were playing around with. They were NOT a final direction, and you absolutely do not have to like any of them!
We felt like some of the feedback was based on the assumption that we were asking everyone to simply pick their favorite of the four designs and that wasn’t really what we intended.
So…let’s try this again!
For those who have been with us for a while, you know our story.
10 years ago, we started as Pup-Cessories Crafts.
For the last two years, we’ve expanded into adding Koda Dog Training, while continuing to create the high-quality gear that so many of you have trusted us for over the years.
And here’s the interesting part: a LOT of people in the service dog community still know us primarily as Pup-Cessories Crafts. That name has been attached to our gear, our work, and our reputation for a decade. Heck, its logo is even on our hardware.
Now that our legal business name is: Koda Dog Training & Gear by Pup-Cessories Crafts, LLC, it feels like the right time for a little refresh.
Our current puppy face logo has been with us for a long time, but we’ve also noticed that the style can look quite similar to other dog related businesses and organizations. As we continue growing, we’d love to develop something that feels more uniquely us, all while still maintaining the recognition and trust that Pup-Cessories Crafts has built over the past 10 years.
And THAT is where we really want your help. Andrew is an absolute master designer, so we’ve been playing around with some possibilities. But instead of asking you, “Which one do you like best?," we want to ask something much more important:
Do you like any of them at all?
If you do — tell us which one and why
If you don't — PLEASE tell us why!
Does something feel off? Does it not feel like us? Does it make you think “dog gear” but not “dog training”? Does it feel too busy? Does it make you forget Pup-Cessories Crafts? Does it communicate what we actually do?
Tell us!
And if you don't like ANY of them, that's completely okay. You are absolutely welcome to suggest ideas or tell us what direction you think would better represent us.
The one thing we do want to keep in mind is that a good logo generally needs to remain relatively simple. It needs to work on gear, clothing, social media, websites, business materials, and everything else without becoming visually overwhelming.
Most importantly, this post is NOT an announcement that we are moving forward with one of these designs.
If the overwhelming response is “Nope! Try again!” — then we try again!
We may ultimately create something completely different based on your feedback and come back to you again to ask “Okay, NOW how does this feel?”
Because we want our refreshed identity to communicate two things equally:
• We have grown and expanded into professional dog training.
• We are still the Pup-Cessories Crafts you have trusted for high-quality gear for the past 10 years.
We don't want to lose either part of that story.
So, we're reposting the ideas, and this time we're asking you to be completely honest. We just ask for people to be respectful.
Tell us what you REALLY think! And for those who dont know, Andrew has a Master's Degree in Marketing and Design and spent years as a creative director and has gone through these types of processes before when rebranding different companies. It's part of his specialty.
Like it? Tell us.
Don't like it? Tell us.
Love one? Tell us why.
Hate them all? Tell us what you'd do differently.
We genuinely appreciate having a community that has been willing to grow alongside us for the last 10 years.
So, what do you think?
