Wonder what this could be for! 🤔 What are your guesses, also how many said things will fit?

Why does a 1-on-1 dog grooming service costs more? Well, because you're paying for dedicated labor and a quieter, more personalized experience, rather than sharing the groomer’s time with several dogs.

The main reasons are:

One groomer = one dog: In a 1-on-1 setup, the groomer generally can't work on another dog while your dog is being groomed. A busy salon can rotate between several dogs and keep multiple services moving simultaneously.

Lower volume: A traditional salon may groom 6–12+ dogs in a day. A 1-on-1 groomer might handle only a few, so each appointment needs to generate more revenue.

More time per dog: One-on-one grooming often allows longer appointments, detailed finishing, breaks, and individualized handling rather than optimizing for speed.

Less stress: Quiet, low-volume environments can be particularly valuable for dogs that don't do well around barking, dryers, or lots of other animals.

Personalized handling: A groomer may be able to tailor the process to your dog's temperament, coat, age, or specific needs.

Higher overhead per appointment: Even though the salon may look quieter, the groomer still has to cover rent, equipment, insurance, utilities, cleaning, booking/admin time, and other business expenses.

The price includes the reserved time: If a groomer blocks out two hours exclusively for your dog, that entire window has an opportunity cost.

A busy salon isn't necessarily making less money per dog. Its business model is based on volume, while 1-on-1 grooming is more like a private service.

For example, if a busy salon grooms 8 dogs at $60 each, that's $480 in revenue from a day's grooming capacity. A 1-on-1 groomer who can only fit 4 dogs might need to charge $100–$120 per dog to generate comparable revenue.

With this being said, starting December 1st, there will be a price increase! If you would like to know your pups new price feel free to send me a message. I hope you can all understand the need for this price increase 🐾

Can be anything ive changed since opening-decor, scheduling, items/services offered etc., things that set me apart from the other salons in town. Ill have a little gift for the person who can name the most! The photos are what I started with. The video in the comments is what it is now...just a tad different 😅🥹

Ill pick the winner tomorrow 10/2 @ 6 pm. You dont have to be a client to participate 🐾

In today’s world, trading services is going to go a lot longer of a way than payment. Money is great but if you’re already going to take that money for a service, why not trade!? I connected with a few people lately who are local who want to trade services -such as hair, tattoos, baked treats, and vehicle services. It’s a win win for us both! If you have a service, product, etc I am more than willing to chat about trading services and would absolutely love it! It’s not disrespectful in the slightest to at the very least ask, chances are I’ve already thought about trading services with you 🥰

Thank you Olivia @ Waggin’ Tails Winona LLC for reminding me of this 🐾

🚨 GROOMER PSA: WANT TO LEAVE YOUR DOG’S COAT LONGER FOR WINTER? READ THIS! 🚨

As temperatures drop, I hear this a LOT:
“I want to leave them longer so they stay warm!” ❄️🐶
And yes keeping your dog’s coat longer during the colder months is absolutely an option!

But here’s the important part:

LONGER COAT DOES NOT MEAN LESS GROOMING.

When you stretch out appointments, that extra length can quickly turn into tangles and mats. Add in moisture, dirt, sweaters, blankets, and everyday activity, and those tangles can become difficult or even impossible to safely brush out.

And once a coat is severely matted, your groomer may have no choice but to take it much shorter than you originally wanted. 😭✂️

So if you want that fluffy winter coat, keep it on a routine!

🐾Stay consistent with professional grooming
🐾Brush regularly at home
🐾 Make sure you’re brushing all the way to the skin
🐾 Pay extra attention to behind the ears, armpits, legs, and sanitary areas
🐾 Keep the coat clean and dry
🐾 Talk with your groomer about the length you want and how to appropriately maintain it.

And now for another winter favorite…

“My dog is shaking because their haircut is too short!”
Sometimes… they’re shaking because IT’S COLD! 😂❄️ truth is, your house temp may not change. It may even be adjusted to warmer. If they live inside, this is the temp you need to consider more when choosing their haircut, over the outdoor temps.

A longer haircut can provide some extra warmth, but it doesn’t make your dog immune to cold temperatures. When it’s chilly outside, consider shorter outdoor time, and other appropriate cold weather precautions.

Want to keep more length this winter? Don’t stop grooming, maintain it! ❤️

A healthy, clean, mat free coat will always be more comfortable than a long, neglected one.
