🐾 Thank You .org
For your donation to our shelter of refurbished dog toys. 🧸 🐕

🐾 They take old toys that aren’t ready to be thrown away and refurbish them by putting in a new squeaker, sewing up a hole, adding new eyes (chew friendly) or whatever they might need. Then they send them to shelters.
Our dogs loved them, they was an absolute hit!! 🥰

Thank you Foundation for awarding Cowley County Humane Society a 2026 Disaster Grant.

🚧 We’ve been able to get started on the clean up & repair work. 🚧

Our kitties will be able to fully enjoy their play room once we complete.

Happy Birthday 🎉 to the one and only 1️⃣ (literally) SNUG!! 💖

This baby girl was delivered via C section at the vet and was the only pup her momma had.
Her momma came into the shelter pregnant so we knew when we found out she was having what we thought was “puppies” we called for a foster.

Little did we know she would be the “one & only” pup.
Honestly this was probably for the best because her “momma” did not want to be a momma which meant the need for a foster was dire!
Though not common it does happen and the vet called this a singleton which meant she was the only pup.
CCHS staff does have a sense of humor sometimes when it comes to naming animals (because sometimes it is the hardest part of the job) 🤔 🤷🏽‍♀️
So we named her Beyoncé (because she’s a single lady!)….the song “All the single ladies” 😂
The call was answered and in stepped her new momma who has fostered her from literally day 1!
Her momma & her will be making it official soon with adoption papers, but we didn’t want her Birthday to go in noticed!!
So…..HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 🎉 🐾 🎉

If you have been to the shelter (or even by it) you can see there is a lot of change going on inside & out. Stay tuned for a whole new inside! 😬
Along with some of those changes has been new staff & although it’s been stressful it’s also been a blessing to start fresh. 🥰
New front desk staff have started something new and we are loving it!!

Today was a busy day with adoptions & holds and we are thankful for everyone who stopped by to “just look” & those of you that found your fur ever! 🐾 ❤️ 🐾

⭐️Let’s talk about rescues….⭐️
🐾 We’ve spent the last few years rebuilding relations with rescues that past staff and dictators had not appreciated.
🐾 It’s not been an easy road because it’s a road you have to prove yourself but they have to give the chance. 🍀
🐾 We will never take for granted the rescues who have come back to CCHS & given us another chance or the ones that are new to us. 🫶🏽👏🏽
This past week we sent our 9th dog to rescue!! 🎉 👏🏽👏🏽
Although that number might seem small, to us it’s BIG because we started at zero.

Austin left this week to a rescue that we’ve built a new relationship with and we are forever grateful for them taking him and working with us! 🎊 🫶🏽
We will miss this big handsome boy, but we’ve already gotten the message he’s settling in great. 🥰
