🚨EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT🚨

Meet Adrienne!

She has been with us for nearly 2 years after moving all the way from Texas! You know her from the front desk but she is also our social media manager, responsible for all the employee spotlights (except her own of course!)

She is currently in school pursuing a degree as a radiology technician so between that and working she doesn't have much free time, but she loves to read, play video games and binge whatever TV series may currently have a hold on her!

Keeping her even busier currently are the two new puppies her family has recently adopted - a pair of wild and crazy border collie mix boys, Boomer and Boston! They join Emerie the cat, who is surely working through some big feelings about her new little brothers.

When asked what she enjoys most about working here, she says, "getting to see and support the animals and their families through the rough times to the good times."

As the mornings get cooler, you might notice your older pet moving a little slower.

Stiffness after a nap, hesitation at the stairs, or less interest in a favorite game are all symptoms you should contact your veterinarian to discuss.

It is easy to write these off as just getting older, but there is often a lot we can do to help them feel better.

Meet Penny! She has worked here at Amber Leaf for 3 years as one of our lovely receptionists.

In her free time, she loves to cook and bake. She also likes to relax outside on a beautiful day with a good book. Her favorite genre to read would be mystery/thriller books.

When asked what she enjoys most about working here she replied with, "I enjoy coming in and working with my amazing coworkers."

Meet Bev! She has been at Amber Leaf for 3 1/2 years as a kennel technician! She is one of the ones who loves and takes care of your babies while you are on vacation!

Bev enjoys watching all sports, but especially the Bears. (Bear Down!) She has a 12 year old pit/boxer rescue named Bert. In her free time, she loves spending time with her 3 grandchildren and relaxing at her lake house in Wisconsin.

When asked what she enjoys most about working here, she replied, "How professional and caring our staff is, and getting to know all our furry clients and their individual personalities!" ❤️

Meet Holly! She has been at Amber Leaf for 8 years as a veterinary assistant! She is currently in school to become a certified veterinary technician.

In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her beautiful daughter and her dog, Shay. She enjoys riding horses and also loves to garden! (You should see her green thumb.)

When asked what she enjoys most about working here, she replied with, "It always keeps you on your toes, and the love of advocating for the animals!"

Bad breath isn't just bad breath.

Most pets have some form of dental disease by age three, and that funky smell is often the first sign. Left untreated, dental disease causes pain and can affect other areas of the body such as the heart, liver and kidneys.

The good news? It's preventable and treatable! (Thumbtack takes his prevention very seriously...)

🚨EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT🚨

Meet Kelsey! She has been at Amber Leaf for 14 years as a kennel worker and then worked her way to reception! She is also known as our lobby artist! Some of you may remember the art we had along the windows...that was all her!

Kelsey is married to her high school sweetheart and has 2 beautiful children. When (if) she has free time she enjoys watching movies and listening to music. She has 4 dogs and 3 cats. She loves to give her animals unique names. For example, her dogs names are Idgie Goodenub, Galloway Ren, Thumbtack Gooding-Splatt, and Thistle Jane Bizzibee. Her cats names are Beaker, Mulaney, and Siren!

When asked what she enjoys most about working here she said, "Getting to know pets and their families after so many years at the front desk. Also, having the opportunity every day to do my best to make every visit just a little easier. Oh, and having a day away from her kids (who she loves dearly) and being able to talk to adults!"

Summer is winding down. Is your pet due for a checkup?
