🚨🌡️EXTREME HEAT WARNING THIS WEEK – PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS HOME AND INSIDE!!🌡️🚨

This heat isn't just uncomfortable—it can be deadly for our pets.
Dogs and cats cannot cool themselves the way we do. During a heat wave, the safest place for them is inside your home in the air conditioning. They don't need to accompany you on errands, and they should never be left waiting in a vehicle.

🚗 Please leave your pets at home. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures inside a vehicle can become life-threatening within minutes. Every summer, beloved pets suffer or die because they were left in a hot car "just for a few minutes."

🐾 Signs of overheating include:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Heavy drooling
• Bright red, dark red, or pale gums
• Weakness or extreme lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Stumbling or acting disoriented
• Rapid heartbeat
• Collapse or unconsciousness

🚑 If you suspect your pet is overheating:
• Move them to a cool, air-conditioned area immediately.
• Offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water.
• Wet their paws, belly, and neck with cool water.
• Get to a veterinarian immediately. Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency.

💔 Please don't assume they'll be okay because they have shade or water. In temperatures like these, that's often not enough. Hot pavement can also burn paw pads in seconds.

The safest choice is simple:
❤️ Keep them home.
❤️ Keep them inside.
❤️ Never leave them in a parked vehicle.

Today is all about celebrating the unconditional love, loyalty, joy and happiness that dogs bring into our lives. And what better way to celebrate than by shining a big spotlight on four very special dogs who are still waiting for their forever families. 🐶❤️

✨ LUNA | 3 years old | 55 lbs
Sweet as sugar, housebroken, dog-friendly and absolutely loves people and belly rubs! Luna would love a home where she can be your happy, loving companion. 🥰 No kitties — she’s not a fan.

✨ KEONA | approx. 5 years old | 45 lbs
Potty trained, dog-friendly, affectionate and incredibly sweet. Keona loves her people and is ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. ❤️ No cats, and she needs a secure 6-foot fence.

✨ LOUIE | approx. 6 years old | 50 lbs
Extremely sweet, loving and gentle. Louie is calm, laid-back and simply enjoys being close to his people. He would prefer to be your one-and-only and would love a secure fenced yard. 💙

✨ FOXY | 8 years old | approx. 25 lbs
Housebroken, quiet, well-mannered, smart and affectionate. Foxy loves short walks, toys, Bully Bones and, most of all, her people. She’s ready for a peaceful home where she can be your devoted companion. ❤️ No other dogs or cats.

Our community pet pantry helps families who are struggling make sure their beloved pets don't go hungry. These aren't just animals -they are cherished family members, and sometimes a little help is all a family needs to keep their pets by their side. 🐾❤️

Our pantry was created for those moments when a family simply needs a little help getting through a difficult time. A bag of dog food or cat food may seem like a small thing, but to a family who is struggling, it can mean everything. ❤️

Right now, our shelves are empty, and we desperately need dog and cat food.

No pet should have to go hungry because their family is struggling. ❤️

Some dogs are looking for a family. Foxy is looking for a quiet, loving home that feels like the one she’s always known. 🥹

Foxy is an approximately 8-year-old, 25-pound sweetheart who has spent her entire life as an only dog with one owner who can no longer care for her. She’s housebroken, quiet, smart, and incredibly loving. 🐾

She gets a little skittish, so she would do best in a calm home with a retired or older couple, preferably as the only pet.

Foxy has always had her person around. She is used to having someone with her most of the time and does not do well being left alone for long periods. Because of this, she needs a home where someone is home with her most of the time.

We also do not recommend kennel or crate training for Foxy. She has never had to live that way, and being confined would be very stressful for her. What she needs is simple—a calm, loving home where she can stay close to her people and feel safe and secure. 🥹💗

Honestly, we can’t believe this sweet boy has had ZERO interest. Not one application. Not one person saying, “That’s my dog.”

And if you met Louie, you’d wonder the same thing.

Louie is the kind of dog who makes loving him easy. He is so sweet, incredibly loving, calm, and laid-back. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention. He just wants to be near his person, feel safe, and know he finally has a place to call home. ❤️

His life has already changed more times than any dog should have to endure.

He lost his mom. Then his dad. Then his sister, Marley, found her forever home. A wonderful neighbor stepped up and gave Louie a safe place to land — and Louie has shown just how much love he has to give.

But that home has now been sold, and Louie needs a forever home before September arrives.

He has waited long enough.
