THIS IS THE OFFICIAL AGENCY PAGE FOR THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES. THE SHELTER IS MANAGED AND OPERATED BY THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE. We have dogs and cats of all ages and breeds/mixes available for adoption. Adoptions fees are: $90 for dogs, $75-$95 for cats, and $25 for all other companion animals. The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccines and rabies, along with he

Meet Maxine!

This happy girl is waiting for her family in Windsor, Virginia!

Maxine is young, only a few years old! In true pitty fashion, she can zoomie for about 10s, then needs 10 hours to recover 😂 preferably on a comfy couch! 😴

We're still working on dog testing, but feel free to apply to set up a meet and greet!

She is available to foster or adopt! Fostering is a great option to see if Maxine is a good fit for your family! ❤️

We'd like for you to meet Mud Flap - a sweet little pittie with an irresistible puppy face 🐶🤎 

Mud Flap is a 4 year old medium-sized pit mix who loves spending her time with her humans as well as other dogs. She has a happy-go-lucky personality and just wants be by your side as much as you'll allow her to be. This little sweetheart is all you could ever want in a dog and she's waiting for her perfect family to come and get her!

For any questions about Mud Flap or if you would like to schedule a time to meet her please contact the shelter ahead of time at 757-365-6318. Meet and greets are also required if you have other dogs in the home.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Bark in the Park! 🫶

We had a blast and so did Honeydew, Lt. Beach, Claiborne, Chamilla, and Slim Jim! Plus, a few very adorable kittens 😍

There was kitten yoga, agility, art (as shown by Lt. Beach), vendors, pageant queens, and so much more!

Thank you to for putting on such an awesome event yet again! Our adoptable dogs and cats appreciate all of the support and donations!

She is a redbone coonhound (or something) around 8yo, the perfect age in our opinion! She's still up for a walk around the block, but is otherwise happy to lounge with her family 🐾

If you're looking for a (heat permitting) farmer's market or brewery dog, Nutter Butter could be your gal!
