🌑 Meet Eclipse!

We're unsure of her her exact age (and you never ask a lady her age), but we know she's looking for a retirement home! 👵

Eclipse is waiting Isle of Wight County Animal Services for her person (or people)!

We're still getting to know her, but we know she loves plush beds and deciding where she goes on her walk 🤷‍♀️

We haven't cat or dog tested her yet, as she's needed time to decompress. This can be done once someone applies!

She does seem to be house trained and potentially crate trained (though, she'll probably steal your bed if you let her!)

Don't let her age fool you! She's sure to put you in your place if you slack or fall behind (we're talking prompt meal times ⏲️) 🤣🙌

If you're interested in fostering or adopting (or pulling to rescue), please apply online! Link in bio (Isle of Wight County Animal Services) 🐾

Once you've applied, call us to set up a meet and greet! This ensures that staff will be available to assist you ❤️

🌑Could Eclipse be your missing family member?

You may have noticed our adoptable dog posts say "dog friendly" or "tested well with dogs", but what does that mean?!

As an open intake shelter, we can't realistically dog and cat test every dog who comes in (though we try!)

We start new dogs with a dog we've seen do well with others. They're usually a calmer dog who is appropriate with others!

Then, we try to match dogs with similar play styles for play groups!

Some dogs have been in homes with other dogs, which helps us know what they can handle

Interested in adoption? Apply online!

Once you've submitted an application, contact Isle of Wight County Animal Services at 757-365-6318 to schedule a meet and greet with your pup!

A good dog test doesn't mean they'll get along with your dog. A slow introduction definitely helps with long term success!

We offer foster to adopt, so you can take a week to see if it's a good fit before finalizing!

Meet Lace!

He's around 3.5 years old and loves attention! Whether a quick walk around the block, or a trip to Windsor Castle Park, Lace is down for anything!

Lace is dog friendly! As you can see, he's a rowdy player (not something every dog enjoys)

Interested in meeting Lace? Stop by any day between 11:30am and 3:30pm (closed Wednesdays)

💦Meet Wet!

Yes, that's her name 😅🤣

She's 5 months old and is patiently waiting for her family!

Wet is currently in a foster home, learning to be a cat! She may hiss a little when they first come in, but quickly switches to a chirping purr! 🥹

The foster has dogs and they plan to introduce them eventually (taking things slow to be successful!)

Like most kittens, she loves to play and loves attention!

Are you interested in adopting Wet? Apply online! Link in bio for a shortcut to the Isle of Wight County Animal Services website 🐾
