Fake's Organic Farm

Fake's Organic Farm Peter and Cheryl Fake bought the farm in 1981. they were conventional farmers then. The farm grows certified organic spelts, oats, soybeans, corn and hay..

One day Pete was spray the fields and got sick and decided from then on that he was farming organic, that was 1991. In 2011 Pete decided to retire and his second to oldest son Ted took over the family farm. It also raises about 15 head of cattle. They do sell the cattle privately for butchering.

Family, Friends and Business Associates,

First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to each one of you. All of the help on the farm, around the house, cards, and phone calls of sincere condolences has helped with the passing of my wife LeeAnn. The past year and a half, especially the last 2 months; have been trying. It is never easy to lose someone you love but to watch someone who couldn’t live her normal life as she should have, is even harder. LeeAnn didn’t allow that to define her though. She kept on going and kept on trying to stay positive and feisty. Her spirit and love were untouched and never wavered. She was my rock and support in all that I did.
It is with a heavy heart and much prayer that I have decided to take a break from running the farm. This decision was not made lightly and has nothing to do with LeeAnn’s passing. It is something I have been thinking about for some time. I was born and raised on a farm and have been farming alongside my dad ever since I can remember. Farming has been and always will be a part of who I am. I am just ready for a new path. What exactly I am going on to yet still needs to be determined. That decision will also require much prayer as well.
I would greatly appreciate your prayers for the boys and I. Prayers for my job search, prayers for our home farm to continue on and prayers for continual healing. Your faith and support in me as a friend, farmer and business partner was and is greatly appreciated. It is because of all of you that I am where I am today.
Future plans for our farm are still pending as we prayerfully consider all options. We (the Fake family) consider ourselves truly blessed by all those we have worked and shared our lives with.

Your Friend
Ted
