ittakestwofarm.com/signup It Takes Two Farm started as a dream. It was also my desire to offer a “different” type of therapeutic activity.

I envisioned that one day I could offer my horses, share my knowledge and pass on my experience to those interested in learning about horses. Making this dream a reality would not have been possible with out the support of my parents, children and friends. Over the years many clients have asked about how the farm was named and what the name means. There are really three parts to the answer. First, I once had a horse named “It Takes Two”, Twoey, who was a great companion and an inspiration. There is a beautiful painting of him (with Arissa) that hangs in the classroom. Secondly, it takes two, both a horse and a rider working together as a team to form a successful partnership. Thirdly, it takes two to have a conversation, it takes two to have a successful relationship of any kind, it takes two people working together to accomplish goals and overcome obstacles. From a therapeutic perspective it is this intertwining of two beings that creates a unique opportunity for comfort, growth, peace and joy. I can’t make this up!
A day in the life of Daisy, the house goat.
This morning she goes to drop the grandboys off at daycare. Then she goes home with Amber for the day. She returns here to her lonely quarters outside to say hello to the students. And then she is off to Tayler’s for a sleepover.
She has a rough, rough life. 🥰

We have room in our Homeschool Rising Rider group starting in November!

📅 Tuesdays, 11 AM–12:30 PM
🍂 Runs throughout the school year
👧 Ages 9+
💲 $200 per month

Riders must be able to walk and trot independently

Our time together includes:

• Riding and building confidence in the saddle
• Grooming and tacking up
• Learning how to care for horses
• Identifying horse body parts—and more!

Learn alongside other horse-loving kids while building skills and connections with our horses. ❤️

✨ Have your own horse and want to ride our lit trails? We’ve set aside a night just for you!

Join us at It Takes Two Farm in Windham, Maine, on Saturday, November 28th for a special Haul-In Night Ride! Bring a horse friend and enjoy an evening winding through the woods beneath the twinkling lights. 🐴✨

• Arrive between 4:00–4:30 unload and tack up.
• Riding will begin around 4:45–5:00 p.m.
• We’ll wrap up around 6:00 p.m.
• Fee: $25 per rider.
• Bring your own horse!

Feel free to add some lights to your horse’s mane or tail for extra twinkle! ✨

What a great weekend ❤️

Wonderful lessons, our first Night Rides of the season, and folks hauling in with their horses for a lesson!

Watching bonds develop, trust build, and skills become softer is the best thing in the world. Those little moments of connection mean so much. 🐴

And our baby goat Daisy is getting stronger every day—and becoming quite spoiled! Between my mom rocking her, spending the night with Tayler, and getting new PJs, she has quite the little support team. ❤️🐐

Thank you to everyone who shared part of their weekend with us. Our hearts are full!

You're Invited to a Spook-tacular Halloween Celebration! 🎃️
Join us on Saturday, October 31st from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
We look forward to seeing your creative costumes!

Explore our new sensory trail, designed for a unique experience. Each child is welcome to select a pumpkin to take home as a special treat. Enjoy a visit with our friendly animals, and take part in our interactive activities, including donkey and horse grooming. Pony and horse rides will also be available for an additional fee.

Admission: $25 per family. Pony and horse rides: $10 per ride. We can't wait to celebrate with you! 🎉
