The weather for Saturday looks amazing and our intrepid Tack Shack volunteers cannot WAIT to welcome you to the farm for "Unpack the Shack!" The Shack has grown, because there is SO much inventory - and it will all be *unpacked* and on display this Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm. Saddles, bridles, halters, buckets, grooming equipment, SO MANY blankets, boots, wraps and so much more. There is plenty of parking right here at the MSSPA, 279 River Road in Windham. Need a blanket for the winter ahead? You don't want to miss "Unpack the Shack!". All proceeds from "Unpack the Shack" benefit the horses.

Our beautiful Friesians who have been here at the farm since June of 2025 are ready for their forever homes. NEWS CENTER Maine was at the farm this week to share their story and learn about this remarkable breed.

NEWS CENTER Maine was at the farm this week to do a story on the amazing journey of the MSSPA Friesians, who were seized and brought to the farm in June of 2025, and just recently awarded to the Society. These five incredible horses certainly have a story to tell! The Society is now receiving applications on these horses and beginning the adoption process. This particular seizure was a story of so many rescues and individuals coming together to give these horses a safe place to land. Tune in to Newscenter this evening for Vivien Leigh's full story!

Treasure's Tack Shack is a bit of a well-kept secret. The MSSPA is the grateful recipient of so many generous donations - tack, grooming equipment, everything that is needed to care for a horse. Here is something you might not know: Treasure's Tack Shack is *100%* volunteer run. Volunteers receive the donations, sort, clean, organize, and label them -- and volunteers "stack the shack" FULL of incredible items. Really -- incredible! There are plenty of new-with-tags items, and loads of gently used ones. THEN, the outstanding MSSPA volunteers staff the Tack Shack every Wednesday and Saturday (and Sundays in the summer) - to offer these items for sale by donation. It is a true labor of love. AND it's all for the horses. Twice a year, this tireless team hosts "Unpack the Shack" where they empty all these incredible items out onto the lawn so shoppers can really 'stroll the aisles' and see the merchandise. You know how expensive horse 'stuff' is....this is a TREMENDOUS opportunity to shop for what you need at terrific prices, and support the herd. UNPACK THE SHACK is coming up on Saturday, October 10th - right here at the MSSPA, 279 River Road in Windham, from 10 am until 1 pm. We sure hope to see you there!
