the overall health and comfort of cats and dogs in Maine and beyond through advanced oral care and accessible weekend medical services. Our dentistry services focus exclusively on oral health, allowing us to provide the highest standard of dental diagnostics, treatment, and prevention. We are passionate about improving the lives of our patients and strengthening the human–animal bond by treating and preventing oral pain and disease. In addition to comprehensive dental care, we offer weekend urgent care for cats and dogs experiencing non-life-threatening medical or dental concerns. Our experienced team provides prompt diagnosis and compassionate treatment when it cannot wait until Monday. Our care will make you and your pet smile!

Did you know different pets have very different numbers of teeth? 🦷🐾

Here’s a quick look at how many teeth different adults typically have:

Humans: 32
Dogs: 42
Cats: 30
Rabbits: 28
Ferrets: 34
Guinea pigs & chinchillas: 20
Small rodents, including rats, mice, hamsters & gerbils: 16
Horses: 36-44
Mini pigs: 44
Goats & sheep: 32
Birds: 0
Goldfish: 8 pharyngeal teeth

A few fun dental facts:

Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and many rodents have teeth that continuously grow, which makes chewing, diet, and regular dental monitoring especially important.

Goldfish do not have regular teeth in the front of their mouths, but they do have pharyngeal teeth farther back in the throat that help them grind food.

Whether your pet has 42 teeth, 30 teeth, continuously growing teeth, or teeth hidden farther back in the throat, oral health plays a big role in their overall comfort and well-being. 💜

* **Saturday:** Urgent Care
* **Weekdays:** Dentistry - Tuesday/Wednesday

* Consistent, predictable scheduling

# # # 🩺 What You’ll Do

* Provide anesthesia support and patient monitoring
* Assist with dental procedures, full-mouth dental radiographs & CT scans
* Assist with dental consultations
* Support urgent care cases, including triage, treatments & patient care
* Prepare and maintain anesthesia and dental equipment
* Communicate with clients and team members
* Maintain accurate medical records

**Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT)**
**OR** a highly experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong anesthesia and/or dentistry skills

We’d love to meet someone who:

It’s National Tooth Fairy Day and so let's talk about our Tooth Fairy Fund! 💜

We started the Tooth Fairy Fund to help working K9s, shelter pets, and animals in critical need of veterinary dental care. Painful mouths often go untreated in these populations, and even one COHAT or oral surgery can make a big difference in quality of life.

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to provide healthier, pain-free smiles to some of the animals who need it most.
