🤍 WHITE SILKIE BREEDERS 🤍

My whites are giving me a run for my money this year. 😩 I currently have 1 roo over 4 hens, and the girls just are NOT laying like I’d like.

The eggs I am getting are showing fertility, so I don’t think my boy is the main problem. But I’ve only managed to hatch ONE white chick all year. 😭 The few and I mean few other fertile eggs I’ve gotten have started developing and then I lost right before hatch.

So tell me what’s working for you! 👇
What are you feeding your breeding pens, and are you adding anything specifically for egg production, fertility, embryo vitality and hatchability? Vitamins? Breeder supplements? Herbs? Different feed?

Give me all your white Silkie breeding secrets because these fluffy freeloaders need to start earning their keep. I need babies to grow and show for next spring!😂🤍🐣

It’s never been about being the “biggest” breeder for me. It’s about the friendships, helping each other learn, and watching someone take a little dream and turn it into something they’re proud of.

We all started somewhere, and I’ll never forget the people who answered my million questions and helped me along the way. If I can be that person for someone else, then I’m doing something right. 🥹🐥

I can’t wait to see what this beautiful girl adds to The Boujee Coop’s calico project. I’m rooting for you and all those future fluffy babies! ❤️

🐓✨ Show days are the BEST days! ✨🐓

There’s just something special about watching these girls carry their birds into that show ring with so much pride. 🥹🤍 All the feeding, bathing, grooming, practicing, and loving on these fluffy little chickens leads up to moments like this.

It’s not always about bringing home a ribbon — it’s about the confidence they’re building, the responsibility they’re learning, the friendships they’re making, and the memories we’ll get to keep forever. 🏆🐥

So proud of my girls and their little feathered show crew! This is exactly why we love this crazy chicken life. 🤍

Maybe our kids don’t need more screen time… maybe they need more sunshine, fresh air, dirt on their hands, animals to care for, and time spent outside. 🌿🐔🤍

There’s something about slowing down, stepping away from the screens, and spending time with animals that’s just good for the soul. It teaches responsibility, patience, compassion, and gives their minds a chance to simply be kids.

Sometimes the best medicine isn’t found inside four walls. Sometimes it looks like sunshine, fresh air, and a little chicken therapy. 🤍

Well… apparently Mama has moved on. 😂🐥

This sweet mama just hatched 7–8 brand-new little babies, and her three-month-old chick has NOT gotten the memo that he’s a big kid now. 😂

He keeps standing off to the side watching Mama with all her new babies like…

“Ummm… excuse me?? I’m still your baby too. 🥺”

Poor thing went from the baby of the family to the forgotten older sibling overnight. 😂😭 He just wants back in the cuddle pile!

I swear, there is never a dull moment around here. Between jealous older siblings, new babies, and a mama with her wings FULL… Silkie family drama might be better than reality TV. 😂🐣❤️

Who else has had an older chick try to move back in with Mama after she started a new family?! 😂

🐣 A little hatch-day drama, but a happy ending! 🥹❤️

This little one was having a tough time getting free and had become stuck to the shell. I carefully used a little warm water to soften what had dried and help loosen him up—no pulling or forcing him out. Once he was free, he went straight back into the warm incubator on a clean paper towel to rest, dry and fluff up.

And before anyone worries… he is doing just fine! 🐥🙌 Sometimes we make the decision to step in when a chick is truly struggling, and this time a little gentle help was exactly what this baby needed.

Hatching isn’t always picture-perfect, but seeing them safe and fluffy afterward makes the stressful moments worth it. ❤️

Welcome to the world, little fighter! 🐣

And yes… apparently room service is included at Silkies in the City. 😂

I’m over here lighting pumpkin candles, thinking cozy thoughts, and pretending the AC isn’t fighting for its LIFE. 🥵😂

Mother Nature clearly missed the memo that it’s September and some of us are READY for hoodies, bonfires, and pumpkin everything! 🍂🎃
