Gertrude the Bouvier on a woods walk class with me this morning. Great dog and different breed. Smart as a whip. Interested in a fluffy dog that isn’t a doodle? You’re probably heading into working dog territory so put your big boi pants on and get to work.

This is my cousin Eleni and her dog Archie. The past weekends I was at the farm, helping during a busy time. It’s an all hands on deck type of situation. Eleni and her mom come to help out. Bless them.

Anyhow, during my lunch break, we did a little lesson with Archie. Eleni has done a fantastic job training Archie and we are putting some extra work into productive play and adding more oomph to the release command to reinforce behavior. But ultimately it’s gravy - like I said - she’s already done a great job and Archie has a terrific life.

A few times each month I get new client inquiries, referrals from other walkers and current training clients asking me for dog walking services.

Kicker is - most inquiries are from owners who already use other dog walking services.

There is not a shortage of dog walkers. There’s a shortage of skilled, ethical walkers. This job is not as easy as it looks on social media. 📷 Olive on a neighborhood walk posing with the tulips in the rain.

First group hike for Milo - Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever x Poodle. Don’t meet those every day! It’s been a while since I’ve taken a new dog walking client. I service between 10-14 dogs/day and my clients are extremely consistent. I met Milo’s dad in the woods and we chatted. It took about a month of working 1/1 with Milo and his owners. Milo doesn’t trust strangers very much but we are grooving now just fine. Brody and Leo couldn’t compliment Milo any better. Thanks boys.
