DOG SPOTLIGHT

Rune (Rue) is a 1.5-2 year old Golden Retriever/Chow mix.
Rune spent the weekend with an employee and was wonderful but we pride ourselves on being as honest and open about our dogs as possible

Rune needs further training- she is very close to be completely potty trained but just isn’t 100% yet. She does let you know when she needs to go out and you only have a short window before she just goes. She gets in the trash can sometimes but isn’t consistent with it and once told “no” she will move away from it.
She is great for a bath/blow dry/nail trim. Walks well on a leash!
She is dog/cat/kid friendly!!!
Rune lacks confidence and needs someone to be patient and kind to train her.

A meet and greet with pre-existing dogs is required prior to adoption

He is very unsure of other dogs but has shown absolutely no aggression. He has a big interest in cats but has never chased them. We do suggest older kids.

DOG SPOTLIGHT

Laramie is a 2 years old Heeler/Aussie mix. She has been fine with the cats and kids however she is a bit unsure of other dogs. She does better with low energy dogs.
She is good for a bath/blow dry/nail trim. Walks well on a leash and LOVES to go on car rides
Laramie is on the smaller side, roughly 30lbs.

Knowledge or previous experience with the breed is recommended. These are working dogs with a lot of energy and quickly become destructive when their mental stimulation isn’t met.

A meet and greet with pre-existing dogs is required prior to adoption

🐾❤️ FOSTER SUCCESS STORY: RAGNAR! ❤️🐾

Sometimes, a dog just knows when they’ve finally found home. And for 8-year-old Ragnar, an adorable GSD mix, that moment came the minute the Martin family opened their home to him. 🥹🏡

Ragnar didn’t need much time to settle in. He quickly made himself right at home and showed his foster family just how special he is. He absolutely LOVES the littles and has even formed a sweet bond with his new doggy brother, Bongo! 🐶❤️

And the best part? Bongo was adopted through the Wi******er Animal Shelter too! Seeing two shelter dogs living their best lives together is exactly why we do what we do. 🥰

What started as a foster home became his home — because sometimes the perfect match is there waiting for you all along. We are so incredibly happy for Ragnar and the Martin family and grateful they gave this sweet senior boy the chance to show them who he really is. ❤️

Congratulations, Ragnar! We hope your happily-ever-after is filled with cuddles, little humans, adventures, and plenty of time with Bongo. 🐾🏡

Happy tails, sweet Ragnar! You’re home. ❤️

❤️ FOSTER FAIL… OR FOSTER SUCCESS?! ❤️

Sweet Almond came to the Wi******er Animal Shelter with her sister, Chai, hoping that someone would open their home and give them a little break from shelter life.

When we put out the call for fosters, Almond’s foster mom jumped right in and welcomed her into her home. And over the last few days, something pretty amazing happened…

Her foster family fell completely in love with her. 🥰
Her humans, her new dog siblings — everyone decided that Almond wasn’t just visiting. She was home. 🏡❤️

So, we are SO happy to announce that Almond’s foster family has officially made her a permanent part of the family!

We call it a foster fail, but honestly… it’s so far from a failure. Her foster parents did exactly what they were supposed to do. They gave Almond a safe place to land, showed her what life outside the shelter could be like, got to know her, loved her, and ultimately found her the perfect home.

And Almond? She hit the jackpot. 🍀🐶❤️

Sometimes the best foster story ends with, “We’re keeping her.” And we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl.

Congratulations, Almond! Your happily ever after starts now. 🥹🏡❤️

And a HUGE thank-you to Almond’s foster family for opening their hearts and home. Fosters save lives — and sometimes, they discover a new family member along the way. 🐾
