Great farrier workshop today. We discussed options for winter traction and snow pad protection, and built a winter package. We also applied natural balance fronts to an Arab, including a rapid shoeing demo and a discussion of how to build efficiency into your work routine. And we concluded with hind shoes for a Friesian sport horse, with tips and tricks for hind shoes including hand positioning, nail pitch, and shoe stabilization techniques.

Day after pulling glue ons- no nail holes to grow out, barefoot-ready sole and frog.... This is one of my favorite things about the easyshoes, and the reason these shoes are great to use as your last shoeing before pulling for winter. This horse actually gained angle through his shoeing cycle, starting at 51° and trimming out at 54 ° post-shoeing.

And this week to Debbie Place's farm in Newburgh with clinician David Landreville- for an informative workshop in the art of barefoot trimming.
