….but climate change is a hoax…..

okay so the world is on fire and a few powerful men are dragging us all toward collapse. but you’re ready to fight back. here’s how:

1️⃣ speak truth
start with your circles. friends, family, workmates. share the full reality of what’s happening without sugarcoating it. this system is violent & unsustainable. the goal is to wake people up with clarity, care, *and* patience.

2️⃣ use your gifts for resistance
whatever you do, you have power! whether you make music, build things, teach, or organise behind the scenes, your skills matter. use them to support movements, challenge the status quo, or build alternatives rooted in justice & ecology.

3️⃣ confront power directly
power will not give up willingly. join movements that are resisting fossil fuels, corporate greed, & settler-colonial violence. disrupt the flow of business-as-usual. show up where it hurts them most, & stop asking for permission.

4️⃣ divest from destruction
move your money out of institutions funding war, fossil fuels, factory farms, & deforestation. ethical banks & credit unions exist. every dollar you remove is one less fuelling collapse. starve the beast wherever you can.

5️⃣ join or build a collective
collective power is our only hope. join a climate, housing, indigenous, or justice group that aligns with your values. or start one with others who are ready to fight. you don’t need to be perfect, just present & willing to grow.

6️⃣ live like capitalism is ending
radically reduce consumption. eat plant-based. grow and share food. cut ties with fast fashion & hyper-consumerism. build your life around regeneration, repair, care, & mutual support.

7️⃣ disrupt the machine
this system will not be reformed. general strike. mass boycotts, civil disobedience, blockades & strikes have always been the tools of the oppressed.

8️⃣ reclaim community & connection
the system wants us isolated and distracted. fight that by building mutual aid, sharing skills, supporting elders, raising kids together, and restoring kinship with the more-than-human world.

BREAKING: Three journalists fired from Stars and Stripes, the nation's military newspaper, just sued Pete Hegseth and his top spokesman Sean Parnell in federal court in DC.

Editor-in-chief Erik Slavin, reporter Lara Korte, and publisher Max Lederer say they were pushed out for one reason: defending press freedom. The lawsuit alleges they're being punished "for speaking up as private citizens in support of the press's freedom to cover military operations."

Their real offense? Doing their jobs. Korte and Slavin gave interviews to CBS News defending the paper's editorial independence. Weeks earlier, Stars and Stripes published a story exposing brutal conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, including mental health struggles and shortages of food and water among sailors nine months into deployment. A day after that story ran, Hegseth's team ordered Lederer to hand out termination notices.

Stars and Stripes has covered American troops since the Civil War, and it has always operated independently of the Pentagon's chain of command by design. That independence is exactly what Hegseth has spent months trying to dismantle. In January, Parnell announced the paper would be "custom tailored to our warfighters," stripped of what he called "DC gossip" and Associated Press stories. In April, the Pentagon forced out the paper's ombudsman, a role that exists specifically to protect editorial independence.

The lawsuit calls this what it is: government censorship. It argues Hegseth and Parnell violated the First Amendment and Defense Department's own regulations by retaliating against journalists for refusing to become a state mouthpiece.

This isn't about "warfighter focus." It's about control. A defense secretary who cannot tolerate a single independent story about troops going hungry on a carrier is not protecting military morale, he is protecting himself from accountability. The service members these journalists write about deserve a press that answers to the truth, not to Pete Hegseth.

Master bobcat operator hubby is digging us a root cellar/storm shelter. I had wanted one even before we moved to this farm, the severity of recent storms…. Or maybe my constant nagging and we are starting!
