Save the Animals Adoption Center

Save the Animals Adoption Center Save the Animals is a non-profit organization with the mission of placing unwanted and abused animals into loving permanent homes.

The Adoption Process:
We strive to make the adoption process simple but as thorough as possible. Check out our Family – Review our pets below or visit our hospital for an up close and personal look at our family of pets in need. Interview – Meet with our adoption center coordinators who will ask you a series of questions to ensure your new pet is a good fit. Application – Complete our application

so we have all the pertinent info needed for a stress-free and safe adoption process. Meet your Pet – It’s time for your meet and greet! Both you and the pet see if we’ve found a perfect match. If not, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with other pets that may be a better fit. Donate to our Center – Your $100 donation goes directly back to the Save the Animals Adoption Center to provide medical treatment and vaccinations.
1-Week Trial – Adopting a pet is a serious commitment. That’s why we offer a trial period to see if we have a match made in heaven.

🩵COURTESY POST🩵
*Twain is NOT in STA care, this is a private rehoming request*

This is Twain. He is an 8-year-old mixture of Mountain Cur, Red and Tan Coonhound, Rat Terrier, "Supermutt," American Eskimo Dog, and Boston Terrier. But in person, he looks like an adorable small yellow Labrador Retriever. He is completely house trained, neutered, and is current on his shots and flea, tick, and heart worm preventatives. He weighs in at about 38 lbs, and he enjoys walks on a leash or romping around in the yard. He is well behaved in the car and is always ready when we ask him, "Do you want to go in the car?" Pick-up trucks work for him as well. Twain would do best in a home with another friendly dog because he previously had some separation anxiety when he was alone. Twain and our female standard poodle get along great, so the separation anxiety has not been a problem. While he does enjoy short bouts of play fighting with our poodle, he also enjoys being a couch potato. He is not a Velcro dog, nor is he needy or demanding, but he does enjoy it when we fuss over him. I would describe him as pretty independent, but in a good way. We never know where we'll find him in the morning-on the dog bed next to our bed, on the dog bed in the living room, or sprawled out on the couch. He's pretty content wherever he nods off.

So you're probably wondering why this wonderful guy is being rehomed. We had an incident recently where Twain bit someone. To be fair, it was not a vicious attack (he did not break the skin but did leave a red mark on the person's leg). And as one person told us, if he had wanted to hurt the person, he would have. However, we have two young grandchildren that we spend a lot of time with. While Twain has been very respectful around them, we have made this decision with their safety in mind.

If you are interested in meeting Twain, please call 302-382-9647

🩶Hina🩶
Hina is the Hawaiian Goddess of feminine energy and grace, and this tiny lady lives up to her namesake! She may be perfectly pocket sized but she has a huge personality! She loves watching her rowdy brothers rough house and play but she's content playing with her toys or being held. Hina wants her human time to be all-the-time and would happily perch on your shoulder while you watch TV or scroll! She has the sweetest voice and will meow for your attention if it isn't on her! This sweet kitten is only 7wks old but she is eager to meet her furever family! Can you really say "no" to those big baby eyes!? Come in and see Hina for yourself this Thursday and Friday and if her sweet face isn't enough you can grab some cookies from our bake sale too! 😉

💚Relish💚
This gorgeous girl wants to come home with you! Relish is a 10wk old Tabico (Tabby/Calico) DSH. She is full of energy and loves to play with her brother and sister, but she's a "people" cat who would likely do well as a single cat too! But only if there is someone to give her TONS of cuddles! She is a purr machine who just wants a cozy lap to lounge in. Stop in this week and see how beautiful she is in person!
*and if you come on Thursday or Friday (7/2-7/3) you can pick up some treats from our bake sale also!! 😉
