Is your dog an epileptic? Dr. Ane Uriarte at Tufts University's School of Veterinary Medicine has developed an app that you can use on both Android and I phones to capture information on your dog's seizures. Check out "My Dog's Epilepsy" app at both the Apple store and Google Play. The hope is that if enough dog owners start using this app, Dr. Uriarte will gain the needed information to better understand and classify dog seizures with the end result being more targeted treatments.

What if my pet needs to see a vet during this trying time, what can I do?
First, call ahead before arriving at your veterinary hospital to learn of their availability. If you have tested positive for Covid 19 or have been potentially exposed advise the hospital and request their procedures prior to leaving your home.
2) Expect that you will need to stay in your car and speak to the office while in the parking lot
3) Most likely your pet will be taken from your car, by a veterinary nurse, into the facility while you wait in the car
4) Communication between your veterinarian and you will occur over your cell phone, therefore make sure that you advise the office of the cell number for the phone that you will be carrying
5) Diagnoses, Treatment etc will be discussed over the phone and you will need to agree to stated charges
6) Payment will occur using your credit card, in most cases, and your pet will be brought back to your car with any instructions, medications and or certificates
7) If your pet needs hospitalization, you may not be allowed into the facility to visit but where possible a video chat may be arranged
