Some dogs walk into the shelter alone.
Kylara did not.
When she returned a couple months after her first stay, she wasn’t just back — she came with the one friend who had survived every hardship right beside her: Angel. When the two girls arrived, they were heartbreakingly thin, clearly struggling, and desperately in need of care. But even then, they leaned into one another for comfort. Their bond was — and is — unbreakable.
With love, patience, and proper nutrition, both girls began to bloom.
Kylara now weighs 49 lbs (was only 26.2lbs) — healthy, bright, and stronger than ever.
Angel, who once weighed only 13.8 lbs at just 7 months old, now weighs a healthy 36 lbs and glowing with life again.
Both girls are heartworm negative, spayed, and finally getting the chance to thrive. Through every step of healing, they’ve remained side by side — never once letting the other feel alone.

Today we said goodbye to hospice foster Reba. Reba came to TBR in March 2025 and soon after was diagnosed with severe heart disease. Despite every obstacle, including congestive heart failure and kidney disease, she continued to fight and enjoy life on her own terms.

Known as "Rooster Reba," she made sure everyone knew exactly when it was time to eat. Her feisty personality and determination brought joy to all who knew her.

Please keep her foster mom in your thoughts as she navigates this difficult loss. Run free, sweet Reba. You were loved.

💔 We are heartbroken to hear about the devastating house fire affecting Purrfect Hearts Cat Rescue. The fire destroyed the rescue owner’s home and tragically claimed the lives of many beloved rescue cats.

As they face the overwhelming task of rebuilding, we hope our rescue community can come together to offer support during this incredibly difficult time.
