I think we are finally ready to share some tragic news that has been going on the last few weeks. Last Wednesday we got a call that our sweet baby Fin is dying of bone cancer. What started as an “injury” in December that we couldn’t understand why it wasnt healing has lead to something we never thought we would ever go through. This past week has been the worst pain to ever encounter in our hearts. Today Fin is undergoing a leg amputation surgery to be able to remove that painful spot and get him back to his happy self. Which to most sounds like a tragedy, to us its a blessing. We honestly thought we wouldnt be leaving the hospital with our boy today. Fin has touched the hearts of his surgical team by no suprise and they believe Fin has more happy and healthy time left here with us and its not time for him to leave us just yet. Tomorrow is not promised, and we dont know truly know if we have weeks, months or if we are lucky a year with our baby but what we do know is we are going to love our boy like no tomorrow and make everyday his best. We know in our hearts Fin is not ready to leave us just yet and he will let us know when he is ready. During this painful time, we did unfortunately endure a huge costly hip replacement surgery that now serves no purpose. Along with that Fin will undergo chemo as long as he remains healthy through the process which is also very costly. We would be so grateful if you could share Fins story with everyone you know. If you need a restock of treats or a new harness or collar please consider us to help us take care of Fin the best we can. Tails and Trails is here simply because of Fin. Fin has guided us to our purpose in life and to make a difference by helping other dogs in need. We fully believe he was brought into our life for this journey, he truly is a special boy. Fins adventures are not not stopping yet. ❤️
