https://petportal.vet/sandy-paws-animal-hospital Here at Sandy Paws we are taking on the corporate animal hospitals and taking back our community. Your pet is not a dollar sign. Your pet is definitely not an uptick on a stock price. Your pet is FAMILY. We’re here, we see you and we definitely hear you. The cost of medical care for your pet has become OUTRAGEOUS. Not because of inflation, not because of the economy, but because of corporate greed. Full stop, that’s not how we do business here. We are here to serve Wilmington with three main objectives:

–To take immaculate care of your pets, obviously!

–To uplift our community with fun events, educational opportunities and outreach intervention for those who are in need.

–To ensure a livable wage for our office staff (the lifeblood of any animal hospital) and to continue to raise awareness for the initiative. You will see us around at local community events. We’ll be there to support your kid’s fundraising efforts. We will be your first line of support when your fur baby needs it the most. Join us on this journey in bringing Mom & Pop Shops back to Wilmington. We can’t wait to welcome you to our paw-some family.

🎉🎉PLEASE GIVE A BIG WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST DOCTOR, DR. ERIN CASEY! 🎉🎉

🐾✨Staff Spotlight: Dr. Erin (Veterinarian)✨🐾

I am so excited to be joining the team at Sandy Paws Animal Hospital! I started my career in veterinary medicine 20 years ago as an assistant, first in a small animal and exotics practice, then moving into emergency medicine. I attended veterinary school at Virginia Tech alongside Dr. Cassie and Dr. Finkle. I was an associate at a busy animal hospital in Virginia until my husband and I decided to make the move to Wilmington.

Most of my time outside the hospital is spent being mom to a 6 year old daughter, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. I love spending time outdoors, whether hiking, camping, or relaxing at the beach. I also enjoy curling up with a cozy blanket and a good book.

I look forward to meeting everyone and working together to keep your furry family members happy and healthy!

🐾✨Staff Spotlight: Erica (Veterinary Assistant)✨🐾

I started in reception a few years ago and found my way back to vet med here at Sandy Paws as an assistant back in September. I've found a new love for this field, more than I could have possibly imagined. My love for animals has always been true, but my appreciation for my new role has grown so much being part of this team. I'm looking forward to growing my career, continuing to learn and grow every day. I'm a big cat girl and will always take all the face kisses your fur babies have to offer.

Post-op snuggles are always part of the treatment plan! Newman was soaking up all of our Vet Assistant Sierra's love while recovering from his surgery! 🐾

🐾✨Staff Spotlight: Sierra(Lead Veterinary Assistant )✨🐾

I started in this field as a receptionist, worked my way into the back and found my love for this field. I have been in the field for about 7 years now. I obtained my Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from CFCC and then went further to obtain my Bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology from Appalachian State. I am a mom of two, an active shepherd lover, & love educating the public. My hobbies include reading, hiking, & spending time with my family! I intend to finally pass my boards this year and hope to continue to be there to support you and your fur kids. If you have a sheppie or a maligator- you know where to find me!
